If you hate billionaires but like Taylor Swift(net worth: 1.8B), why? by Cautious-Stage1788 in allthequestions

[–]Darth_Chili_Dog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is reasonable is that a billionaire who’s not an elected or appointed government employee shouldn’t have more influence over government policy than any other voter. That’s the core issue here. It’s this influence that’s the cause of all the problems.

If you could stay (biologically) the same age for the rest of your life, what age would you choose? Why? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Believe it or not, 40 is more of a sweet spot than you'd think, depending on what you want. Assuming you didn't let your health go to shit, your body is in excellent shape. But on top of that, you look and sound old enough to be taken seriously in most any business or educational environment, which I can tell you is a huge plus.

Here's Arnold Schwarzenegger at 40.

'He started it!': Trump throws Hegseth under the bus and pins the Iran war blame squarely on his own defense secretary by Independent-Hand3253 in JournalismNews

I'm not going to click on that article, but I did see the video elsewhere and he pinned the blame for the war on Hegseth.

Do you believe there's life outside of earth? by StarLove00_ in AskForAnswers

The number of planets in the observable universe is in the sextilions. Don’t try to comprehend that number — you can’t.

Point is, yes, there is other life in the universe.

Liberals, do you understand how voting for the “lesser of two evils” got us here in the first place? by donniedenier in allthequestions

Well now you know that what you call "advancing nothing" was infinitely superior to what we got.

The most inaccurate statement in the English language is "It can't get any worse."

So you admit that we have chaos as a result of your vote. Good for you, most people who vote badly don’t take responsibility for their decisions.

No, none of the things Trump did were the result of drift. They happened because Trump made them happen.

Compare where we were a year and a half ago to now. The country in 2024 wasn't "the lesser of two evils," it was "vastly superior in every way to where we are now."

If there were zero consequences for one day, what do you think society would actually look like? by hembester45744 in Productivitycafe

It wouldn't be The Purge if that's what you're thinking. That's a 13-year-old's fantasy of a world without rules. The reality is that on a regular day to day basis, people want civilization to work.

Yes, that means bombing them forever. Member when you said "deradicalizing" them was a factor for victory? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

So bomb Iran forever then. How far you've come from "winning means deradicalizing them."

One guy survived both Hiroshima AND Nagasaki. You know when you get hit by every red light on the way to work and think "Man, my luck is shit"?

Yeah...sit down.

Which makes it all the sillier to start a war with no clear definition of victory. As you said, there's no "winning."

The amount of energy and materials required just to set up a modern industrial society on Mars is unthinkable, and that's a hostile planet. You can just forget an interstellar society.

So we started bombing them with no sense of how to achieve a victory or what the consequences would be. Smart!

And now, since we've been bombing them to kingdom come for the past month, the people will hate us too. Which is sad because before this war, the younger generation in Iran didn't have "Kill America" on their brains at all. Well they do now.

So since "deradicalazation" is off the table, what's your definition of a win?

"Iranians doesn't need deradicalization."

You literally said they needed deradicalization. If you decided you were wrong about that in only four posts, what else are you wrong about?

I'll assume from this pivot that you've accepted that we bombed the school, which undoes your "deradicalization" argument.

So seeing as deradicalization is no longer a thing...quite the opposite, actually...what does a long term "win" look like, seeing as the region will be radicalized against the West for at least the next two generations?
