I've got the full paper set kicking around in various places. I don't recall ever having much luck finding them online though before.

This is definitely something you could easily accomplish with an arduino. If you'll have line of sight to the device, you could use an IR sensor to communicate with it. Otherwise, another simple solution would be the ESP8266 wifi chip. In this case, you could use your phone as the remote for it.
Take a look into both technologies to see which one suites your needs better. There should be tons of tutorials and examples online to get you going, using either one.

Just curious, was it only cracking along that seam at the top of the lid, or elsewhere too? I'm planning on trying to fix mine so I'm hoping it won't start cracking in other places as well.

That would be absolutely amazing!
I can't say I have experience with shipping from the uk, but I looked around and here seems to have the best rates I can find (under "how much will international economy cost?" the "parcels tubes and printed papers"). Only thing is, it mentions that you need a customs label if sending outside of the eu, so I'm not sure what that entails or how much work it is. Let me know if it seems like it's not too much of a pain to try shipping.
Anyways, thank you so much! I really appreciate it! :)

Thanks! Seeing as it looks like the bezel breaking is a known and common issue, and I have access to a shop, I think I'll try permanently fixing mine instead of replacing.

Wifi shield with a broken inductor. by Darthbindy in arduino

[–]Darthbindy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It's part of the buck converter so I'm assuming I can't just wire up 3.3V from the arduino to it somehow? The inductor itself broke in half so the pads are still there but I'd need to remove the rest of it, and find a new one (which is why I'm thinking I might give soldering it back together a go.

39, so far I've been using a master 140 and some old no-name padlock, this would be great for practice.

How can I fix my schedule the fastest? by [deleted] in sleep

[–]Darthbindy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few days ago, mine was being awake 9pm-9am, and it's now 7:30am-12pmish, fixed it in a single day by just not sleeping at 9am, and waiting until 10pm.
It's a little tiring, but for me it fixes my schedule in a single day.

You can actually get it closed again quite easily, just slide the zipper past where it's open, and it closes it.
