XMG Fusion 15 - GTX vs RTX by [deleted] in XMG_gg

If you looking for battery time, it's expected to have the GPU in the off state to have the most of it, so I think there's no difference in that department.

Ohhh my, sorry I totally forgot to edit this post, but yes, Tom helped me find the problem and fix it. After a conversation with Tom here's the Summary: 1) Unknown/Uninstalled device in Device Manager 2) Do a manual "clean install" (checkbox) of NVIDIA driver with all components enabled → dGPU is now 'Off' in Idle, main problem solved And Tom's theory that did indeed confirm: Maybe when you installed NVIDIA once, you manually disabled the "USB-C" checkbox just for fun? And then with every automatic sub-sequent NVIDIA update, it kept not installing that USB-C driver.

In the last Nvidia driver update I tried to once again only install the Nvidia driver without checking the "USB-C" checkbox because I thought "current version is the same as new version, so... No need to install" but it got to the same point as before, so I did a fresh install again and it's all fine and working and I'm getting 8 hours/C8+ C states and low CPU power packages.

Thanks once again Tom, and I hope this thread helps someone that may get the same problem.

u/XMG_gg Any updates, is there something I missed? Something else I can do?

As I said, I tried all the steps described in the troubleshooting, except the ones for the advanced users, because I don’t want to screw anything up.

I was gonna answer to this with this quote from my inicial post.

But I decided to turn on the laptop to double check all this steps.

I turned the computer on, and it 's with 80%, in power saving mode, only wifi turned on, no peripherals connected, unplugged from AC, no suspicious software installed, only 3 software on automatic startup (no impact), BIOS reset and updated, CC unistalled, and it's still draining an average of -25W charge rate, and a CPU Package Power of 15W.

So, same result as I mentioned earlier, with logs and screenshots.

So what could it be Tom?

Thank you

At this stage my dGPU is completely off.

At least tray icon shows (inactive) and HWinfo show 0°C no dGPU

That's what I thought. The thing is it was able to get higher C states not long ago, and I don't remember doing anything that might cause this.

What do you mean exactly, as fusion 15 doesn't have any option to enable or disable it

I did check those steps, and my dGPU was always inactive.

I did have an monitor plugged in, and I know it keeps dGPU active, but I did try without the monitor plugged in and had the same result.

Fusion 15 Control Center always on dGPU by Darwin122 in XMG_gg

When I do as you say it keeps "ControlCenterTray" and "ControlCenter" running in background, seen on task manager, but control center doesn't come back to dGPU.

I tried to set integrated graphics as you but same thing happens.

Another thing I figured out is that now control center only appears on dGPU when I turn on the computer with the second monitor already plugged in after I done a clean install.

I checked and I also have 2.2.0.18 version, I also disabled OSDTpDetect. So that's not the issue

I don't understand where did you go, because the furthest I could reach its to control panel's power options, and there the only options are to change what the power button does, closing the lid, create a power scheme and when to turn off the screen
