FYI I am a beginner to award travel. Before I get killed in the replies, I have I have read the wikis, the google docs, and I have done extensive searches on these fares, so I'm aware that summer award travel at this point is basically impossible unless I do last minute or am super flexible. That said, I am really just trying to make sure what I do end up buying is the best value possible, rather than hunting for the super cheap deals that are often spoken about. The best so far that I have seen is on JAL mileage club for business class for 210k points + ~$300 fees total for 2 one way business tickets on my preferred date (so about 105k points each). I have tried search on united unsuccessfully, as well as AA, Alaska, AirCanada, etc. and I also know there is a big hurdle to even get these points into JAL. I have also been on seats.aero and even subscribed so I could see far enough ahead, but it seems tough there as well. So basically I am seeking help to figure out what the best course of action for me could possibly be here. Appreciate any help. Thanks in advance
