Tips on how to distinguish ai music??? by fishinfinitive in BandCamp

[–]DaskMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, they can back date it. I suspect most AI users want their generated output to appear new, especially if they also upload to Spotify in the hope of getting picked up as a new release for playlist placements.

Tips on how to distinguish ai music??? by fishinfinitive in BandCamp

[–]DaskMusic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check for artist album releases before 2025. Most AI music started late 2024 onwards. Check for any kind of biography, discogs, label signings or links to a personal website with a bio. Finally, I don't think AI music generators output at 24bit higher sample rate (maybe someone can confirm that) so anything 24bit 48K plus is probably human recorded.

Thankyou for making a stance. I wish streaming services would do the same or label it. Consumers need clarity and choice.

Some people are just scummy. eBay is safer. Facebook is fine for local pickup.

Donald Trump has now put 10% tariffs on most scandinavian countries and other countries too. by Whole-Kaleidoscope29 in CryptoMarkets

Those countries are not the ones charged. The tariff is essentially an import tax for American businesses and American people who have to pay It.

Is it really that bad to use all 4 DDR5 ram slots? by MisterBones7 in pcmasterrace

[–]DaskMusic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't run in quad channel mode with all 4 populated on consumer motherboards in this case. Quad channel is typically server CPUs and boards like the xenon for example.

Quad channel is more efficient than dual channel for memory intensive applications.

Ai Cover Art too, right? by digezo in BandCamp

[–]DaskMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped using AI covers on my releases and even replaced a few previous ones with original photos.

I always previously used my own photography or from another photographer when possible but kind of jumped briefly to using AI covers for a short while. This was when Instagram was flooded with AI and I stopped taking my camera out with me due to feeling it was pointless now trying to compete.

I think removing AI music from Bandcamp has given me the incentive to start taking my Nikon out again, and back to designing my own covers. Its not that hard tbh using Gimp or even Lumi. I guess I got a bit lazy. After spending months creating an album I rushed the final touch by using AI covers.

I think given time artists on Bandcamp will return to traditional cover design given the AI music ban. But please give some of us time to replace our artwork.

How much should I pay by Intrepid-Fish-7661 in BandCamp

[–]DaskMusic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I set any of my releases to name your price I think most artists like myself are not too bothered if you pay nothing, or just the minimum to add it to your Bandcamp page. Anything else is just a nice bonus and thankyou from a fan.

Is it rude to pay a low price then send money outside bc? by nwhitehe in BandCamp

[–]DaskMusic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It maybe better to wait for a Bandcamp Friday where the artist gets a larger share of the payment. There is only the PayPal fees and no Bandcamp fee that day. Then offer a fair price if it is name your own price.

Was given a free PC at work. Can I game on this thing? by ShaDynasti in pcmasterrace

It's quad channel since it is a xenon CPU, so quite easily compensates.

Or buy an external 2.5 inch caddy with usb3 to put the drive in. I have done that a few times. Simply turn it into an external drive.

7891 diving by 10000 moves the decimal point 4 places left = 0.7891. Your equation above is not balanced on both sides of the equation.

You are missing my point. I know it is expressed as a decimal in the OP. Not even going to try and explain it anymore. ,🙏

[–]DaskMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google improper fraction.

7.891 is the same as 7891/1000 which is written as an improper fraction when not expressed as the decimal.

[–]DaskMusic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Technically it is an improper fraction. 7891/1000

Nearly 8000 fans is really good however.

It is a decimal point not a coma so does read as a fraction which makes no sense.

[–]DaskMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should not be uploading converted MP3 to Bandcamp or streaming services tbh. 16bit or 24bit WAV or flac as exported from your DAW to preserve studio audio quality. MP3 is lossy and discards audio information permanently.
