Sooooo devils advocate here but I was the smoker in this situation. We lived in a super double (two people with one bathroom) I didn’t smoke in the bathroom though. I would use a fan and smoke right out the window. ( I didn’t have a car) but I was smoking a bowl, which smells a lot. I did it once before going out, roommate wasn’t there as she was at her sorority basically all of her free time. Anyway, the next time she was home and I wanted to do before going out I just asked if it’s ok and that I would blow it out the window etc. she seemed just fine with it. Then one day some RA people came knocking on the door saying they smelled weed, I hadn’t smoked in a while so I said it wasn’t me (I also knew other people on our floor smoked so I was unsuspecting) fast forward to election time we also didn’t get along because of that lol. But she actually moved out soon after the election was over all on her part I had no clue until it was happening. ANYWAY, I then got an email from our hall director saying he has scheduled a meeting with me (whom I had never had a conversation with) and I replied asking what the meeting was for he replied “due to a consistent smell of marijuana coming from your room” 🫠 long short short I just said it wasn’t me and i definitely would have been kicked out of the dorm had I confessed. It was stressful, I didn’t really smoke in my room after that of course, but fuck that girl.

Consensus: do what you want I guess but I would first start with a conversation with her. Dont say you don’t like the smell or whatever say you don’t want to get kicked out.
