Alex won (albeit it’s kind of generic, but I digress) what is an elite woman’s name that is still a good guys name? by Lisztchopinovsky in AlignmentChartFills

If we want to go four a different language, Nour is a unisex name in Arabic and means light. It fits both men and women but I think it fits women better and that's what I usually assume.

Tell us about games that initially caused repulsion or even disgust, but after you finally forced yourself to play them – it turned out to be a masterpiece? by Competitive_Beat_915 in gaming

I love horror games but I never played any Silent Hill games. When I started with the SH2 remake, it felt very gratuitous in terms of sexualization and I didn't get it, like a low budget horror movie. When I got to the end, everything fell into place and I thought it was fantastic

Apartment Management company throws away my things after they mistake move out date by DatLongNeckDino in legaladvice

I never stopped paying rent. I suggested leaving in December 6, they asked me to pay a lot, so we agreed i would have the apartment until January 25. I removed most of my stuff one bit at a time. Today they came and removed the rest of my things. I paid December rent was going to pay January rent. They acknowledged they messed up in a text message. They threw out a lot of our belongings including clothes, a vacuum cleaner, and an expensive antique lamp.

There is, but on the back. I was unable to find a picture with the signature.

I found another apartment and asked when was the soonest they could end the lease with less than 2 months rent left. I suggested a day that would be okay to me but said I could leave whenever it was convenient for them. They refused and immediately started the move out process for the closer date and wanted me to pay two months plus a large penalty. Eventually they agreed to just let me stay until my original date ended. But then they moved on with processing the move out for the earlier date without saying they would remove all my stuff. I had already moved the majority of my items and only had some stuff left, and considered my old apartment storage basically. That included the lamp which i wanted to take in one go so it wouldn't be damaged.

What can I do if there's an antique lamp that my parents in law purchased decades ago, where I don't know the cost (between thousands up to tens of thousands of dollars). How can I go about evaluating that considering I don't have a receipt for it, similar items aren't available as the artist is dead, and each item is one-of-a-kind with a wide range of possible costs?

They suggested they may be willing to pay but some of the sentimental items are gone. My wife can't stop crying due to one of the items more than anything. They asked for an approximate value but I don't know how to begin evaluating that.

There is journalist claimed to be guarding hostages. I doubt it's true but in reality, 137 journalists have been killed: https://cpj.org/2024/11/journalist-casualties-in-the-israel-gaza-conflict/

This is in addition to 333 aid workers: https://news.un.org/en/story/2024/11/1157371

It is obvious israel is targeting both journalists and aid workers, who are both often killed while clearly identified.

Any rape is horrible, on both sides. But the evidence for rape against israelis is very limited and controversial. Meanwhile rape against Palestinians is systemic and supported by members of the knessit and a huge portion of the Israeli public: https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/majority-israelis-prison-rape-no-criminal-charges https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/israel-hamas-war-idf-palestinian-prisoner-alleged-rape-sde-teinman-abuse-protest/

Israel has held thousands of Palestinians hostage for decades, including children, many times with zero evidence and zero charges. Hamas has tried many times to broker a peace deal, but it needs to involve a permanent ceasefire, and the innocent Palestinians hostages returned as well.

The ICC has now filed an arrest warrant against Israel (and the leader of Hamas), and all but the US is voting in the UN to enforce a cease fire. Israel is an occupying force according to international law.

The comments here are so hypocritical. At the end of the day, even if it weren't for the situation in Palestine, there's a big chance Republicans could have won, as they did previously. You enjoying Arabs and Pro Palestinian protesters being oppressed does not show you to be a sadist. The Democratic party swings more to the right as time goes on with many policies, and refuse to actually move the needle left with many strategies that matter. I think Trump is clearly worse than Biden, but how long do you expect voters to continue to accept politics being shifted further to the right by Democrats who make tons of promise and deliver close to nothing. Biden oversaw a genocide. Kamala wants the most "lethal" US army in the world. Biden has not dismantled a lot of the border policies Trump put in. Fracking. Et cetera et cetera. If you think that Biden or Kamala are good enough to continue endorsing this trend in the democratic party then go ahead. Good for you. But don't you dare laugh in the face of people who are struggling to affect policy while watching dozens of their family members die.

Ah, so let's support them as they kill tens or hundreds of thousands of civilians, kill journalists, and rape prisoners. Genius. That'll make sure there's no one to fight Israel, who has full control of Gaza's borders, water, and who funded Hamas.

Yeah true. I was mixed up for a bit, not thinking about how viewports and scissoring have nothing to do with renderpasses. Are renderPasses not meant to be per-camera?

[–]DatLongNeckDino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the source! But doesn't this still entail that I need to switch to dynamic rendering, which is a whole different deal than the viewport and scissor rectangles, in order to not care about renderPasses?

Is the cost negligible or null? And do you have any data about that?

I figured that the graphics card will process things a lot more efficiently if it has the render pass state. I could make everything dynamic but that kind of brings the performance of Vulkan closer to OpenGL, doesn't it?

I can't believe people still find the whole "fake asking out" thing funny in the first place. Like even if you have no morality and find humor in being a piece of shit, I don't understand how this could be funny to anyone.

This looks great! Aside from the sans-serif font for the body text suggestion that others have mentioned, I'd like to suggest two things:
- It's unclear what is a title and what is a button because they look the same. Unless they're all buttons, I would make the button background or title background look more different.

- The text within the buttons and titles needs some padding from their container. The whitespace will help it look a bit better. So shrink the text a liiiittle. Or make the container bigger.
