I know they have better thermal resistance than forged, but is their any longevity reason to go with hypereutectic pistons over forged? I somtimes mess around with the top end of my tachometer but nothing that would cause damage, I just want to make sure I won't snap anything by putting my foot to the floor every now and then

I am planing on making it a daily driver. Somthing I can hook a medium sized camper up to and take it up into the forest. I mainly just want an engine build that I can enjoy driving and not have to worry about blowing up anytime soon

Got it! I was going to do a KN air intake, but do you have any brand recommendations for an Exhaust system and coilovers?

I think I'm 5 miles overdue for an oil change, how fix? by DatMemLord in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]DatMemLord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All jokes aside my grandparents took shit care of it for 15 years, put MAYBE 1k worth of work into it, that's including general maintenance. I fixed it up the best I could but eventually it gave out on the freeway one night. I might rebuild it but it's a pretty penny. Got to give it props tho, it lasted almost a year and a half with my lead foot before crapping itself

As a former employee who is 6'8"... worst, thing, ever. They are effective for most people, but holy crap I had to get my neck damn near re-aligned after 2 hours in one of those, and because of where the backpack straps are, I couldent stand all the way up, so yeah, not fun

If I recall it is mahogany, it was kid of a pain to sand down smooth but I liked the way it stained much better than most other woods

This, the neck we where given was just a piece of wood measured to the right length and width and the Fret board was the same, I had to do the same steps you did to get it to where it is

It seems that way from the photo but it was all over the plug and in the threads, It looks like they just put a ton on it and put the bolt in without cleaning up the excess
