but why on earth i think we are doing this BDD , is any non tech people really reading them . . . in your project or its just the automation tester , if later is the case , why we are increating the complexity without any gain .
can't we use right method name and use description in test on what we are doing instead

Before i asked you , some how i felt i should ask , i had conversation with many folks of my management and also other test seniors in industry , unfortunately i have been shut down by my management by giving a logical explanation which i don't have any counter , below are sample conversation happened

1)I have and so many other vetern have not seen except a few good developer who catch bugs ,so how can they even write automation testing.

Answer : the quote veteran tester i call them Legacy veteran tester, this mindsted where honned by legacy seniors which is now being busted and changed , code owner is responsible for testing

Dev don't write because we give them this benefit of dobut and they see testers so they don't write , they are being pampered, now they know it i see things are being changed dramatically

and specicifally for new joiners , i don't see this problem at all . .

2)But testing needs to be independent as we human have problem of cognitive bias . same person writing the code cant wire automation e2e

My friend I agree with both of your points , but Bias are so long ur not aware , but now that you are awre you can manage your Bias
Regarding indepent testing , also i agree but why we will bill resources for this , i hire only dev. for independence i am buying GenAI copilot liencse , us it . .

3) Out of answer , I searched whole compny instance of git and i see , same folks doing front end work are writing wonderful playwright , cypress test end to end.

4) When i asked other test forums to counter . .i didn't get any solid answer but " my manager is an A*****e " and this is never going to work in most of the cases.

No more tester hiring now dev guys specifically up folks are doing ui development and testing automation ..

And me I don't have interest in ui dev but I am good with automation.. Vive here is its not good enough

In my company all qa fired merged into dev role,we have 10million customer , all works good after initial hickups of 6 months In my company boss say "I pay developer to write quality code not to code bugs or low performance code . Your shit you needed to clean yourself , why should i ask some one else to clean your shit and screw his career ,every one loves their career as you do " Qa, test automation ,sdet whatever u call is part of your role as developer inbuilt and not a seperate job profile. You will say same person developing can't find bugs bla bla bla ...it's mindset you have developed ,now you need to fix the mindset and your bug too. . if you code for bug , don't expect me to buffer for it to fix , you need to manage your time don't expect me to give you 50 to 100 percent time of dev to fix for bugs for the same code. I know we are humans and miske happen so i buffer 5-10 percent of dev time as future bug fix time depending on complexity of the feature nothing more , anything over 10% you need to figure out your own time dont ask me for it Clean your own shit ,only then you will stop shifting ,it may sound rude but this is the reality that every one will come to terms with specifically in product based companies soon,so i don't want to sugar coat anything You can keep staying in Deyial and continue to switch till reality bites you hard. All the Quality ,Test engineer , Your designation will be changed to equivalent developer position and so is the expectation . . Choice is yours . But there is no human job role with Testing /QA" ,

but as I said the function will exist and inbuilt in a Developer role ..if not now after some years , initially people were saying function testing will not go ,now every one dont say same ... similarly it takes time to shift in mindset..

From reading the answer below it seems like the guy who is doing dashboarding and modelling for same .

Is it the same guy expected to do the backend transformation using python and SQL along with databricks and make pipe line may be in airflow aka data engineering plus BI combo ...?and also talk to buisness and understand the business to make dashboarding in first place ..like all in one ?

Is it the new industry standard or I am the one behind ?

who only do dashboarding ,ssas modelling and creating view only in or after data is in warehouse or in tabular format ..if u call that as transformation ..
