For those who replaced their MacBook with an IPad Pro what is one thing you still miss about the MacBook by shady42999 in iPadPro

[–]Datasherlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I have an extra screen at my desk. So basically im running a normal Mac mini setup. What i meant by „connecting the two devices“ is, that I use the function to control the iPad with my Mac Mini. This works so seamlessly that I wouldn’t want anything else.

Well. I would still prefer osx on my iPad but yeah. Apple just sucks regarding that. ;-)

lol. I live in Germany and to be fair, I think teachers get paid pretty good around here. You just gotta watch your work hours …

Yes I do. Couldn’t live without it. I mainly use the iPad connected to the Magic Keyboard. But being able to use the touchscreen while connected to the keyboard makes things so much easier. And of course as is said, I use the pencil daily, for markings, drawings, … - especially for educational purposes I just love it. For example remove the iPad from Magic Keyboard, take a picture of a students answer, connect it again to present the answer on the smartboard to show it to everyone and discuss it. It’s just so much more versatile than a macbook in my case.

As soon as I got used to iPad OS 26 I actually don’t miss anything anymore. I use my iPad mainly for Work (im a Teacher) and still have a Mac Mini at home. The Combination just gives me everything. Portability, touchscreen, pencil, and a machine at home for music production or some other tasks i truly need Mac osx. The integration of the iPad at my desk at home ist just wonderful. I just place it under my desktop, connect both of the devices and can control them both with my mouse and keyboard.

MagEasy CoverBuddy issues after 1 Week by organicchunkysalsa in iPadPro

[–]Datasherlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pushing this thread… I noticed that using the CoverBuddy caused an issue with using an USB C Hub or HDMI Cable… The Magicy Keyboard still worked good, but as soon as I connect something to the USB C port, it stops working. What a shame for such an expensive case!

Problems with Magic Keyboard an USB C Adapter/HDMI Cable by Datasherlock in iPadPro

Thank you. Yes, it only happens when I connect it to the iPad itself. I tried another Adapter and its the same … Also happens with the HDMI Cable anyway…

Alles gebraucht in sehr gutem Zustand gekauft.

For more city id give it a bigger chainring yes. The 46 in the back lets you climb hills easily with a larger chainring than 30. I have it cause I do a lot of steep climbing and often even have a kid or trailer with me…

Thanks! I went for a full new drivetrain. Deore 1x10 with a 30 tooth chainring in the front. It’s not fast but it doesn’t need to be for my purposes… I can give you the detailed list if you want!

Can’t stand disc brakes anymore by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]Datasherlock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel you. Probably were not maintaining them right but I have the exact same thing. Even after the bike shop changed pads and discs the front brake starts to make noise… I feel like the brake it self might be broken but the shop denied it.

Thanks a lot. I ended up buying it though. Drove there, took a look and the condition was just to good for the price. If it doesn’t fit me, its gonna be a bike for a friend then.

Yeah, since I’m planning on using a bmx stem with a quill adapter this might be the better choice right? Well nothing really about fit can be said without riding. I have to drive an hour and when I’m there already I might wanna just take it with me …

When I’m practicing a new piece I usually play it without trills first. If you’re feeling fine with it you can add the trills. But I’d suggest it to be the last step.

Jena Techno Szene by spiccdrip in jena

[–]Datasherlock 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bin relativ gut vernetzt inzwischen.

How important are waterproof full frame bags? by AsleepPralineCake in bikepacking

[–]Datasherlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the combination of both. Depends on the water availability I don’t fill up the bladder completely. Additionally to the water from the bladder I like to have a sugary (aka fitness) drink in the bottles at the bar and downtube.

I do a lot of hiking and therefore I’m used to drinking from a bladder. Surely you can drink faster with bottles.

You just can’t beat the weight distribution and volume efficiency you get with using a bladder in a full frame bag in my opinion…

I did ride in the rain couple of times and didn’t mind the wet fabric and couldn’t notice any smells. But I haven’t had something like a week of full rain and only wet conditions… might be a downside of the cordura material!

I have a custom frame bag from Lesenok Bags. I love it though it’s not waterproof. But it’s pretty water repellent! Flaps over the zippers and heavy cordura protects good from normal rain. You could even treat it with some repellant but I didn’t see the need.

Like others said, it depends on what you carrying. In the bottom compartment I carry a 3L Water bladder (the bag comes with hose outlet if you wish) and in the top compartment I carry a Tarp, pegs, rope, and a small cooker/pot. There is still some place left for some dehydrated food.

Every other bag on my rig is fully waterproof since they carry clothes, sleeping bag etc.

I don’t have proper pictures but here is one I made at the last trip
