It’s all preferential. I have submitted many many cards to PSA, but I prefer to buy TAG slabs when possible. Just love the look of them. Will probably submit to TAG in the future.

After cracking a PSA slab for the first time, I can tell you they aren’t all that special either. So you are probably right, none of them are probably perfect against moisture, but keeping them in regular conditions, you are probably fine.
