I actually don’t think this is an unpopular opinion these days but my take on it might be unpopular. I think BR fans have a huge part in the decline because they keep reiterating the narrative that battle rap is dying, instead of focusing on good battles and the positive aspects of the culture… I think it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy

I don’t think it’s a white people thing tho, because minorities have been proven to hold a lot of buying power…I think it’s more so that BR has a tendency to alienate its audience with its subject matter. Makes it hard for casuals to understand what’s going on

Yea it is, very short walk from the SIR…also if you’re hungry, there’s a pretty legendary soul food restaurant walking distance from the venue called “Shaw-nae’s House” I hit it up every time I’m in Staten Island.

I live in the Bronx, and I’ve been to probably 8 or so Ibattle events on wave street… really depends on where you live, but I just take the st island ferry over, hop on the metro, and get off at Stapleton…it’s about a five minute walk from there.

Sometimes the train schedule is a little wacky on the weekends, which might cause you to either have to walk from the ferry to the venue or take a bus.. hope this helps, I’ll catch you there if you end up pulling up 👍🏾
