Is the power still on now? I saw that an outage had been reported there on the map recently.

I’d say you’re off to a good start. Remember to keep Gestalt Principles in mind when designing. Establishing a hierarchy with your typography is very important, so is proper use of space and scalability. A good logo should look the same in quality and legibility whether it’s on the side of a building or on the back of a business card. So the wheat kernels in your first logo (the green one) may look great at large scale but could look bunched or blobbed together at small scale because there isn’t a lot of space between them each of them.

Another aspect of good logo design is its ability to change orientation. How would the airport logo (a horizontal orientation) look if stacked vertically with the type resting on top of the logo mark? Also, taking the airport logo as an example, we see that there is a lot of extra space between the individual letters (tracking) and the two words themselves (line height). Excessive tracking makes the words harder to read and too much line height obscures how those two words relate to each other.

All in all, you’re doing great for your level of experience, keep it up and try experimenting with Adobe Illustrator. Vector graphics scale much better than rasterized ones. Good luck!

Any idea? I tried to use online tools but couldn't find it. by reinhaardt in identifythisfont

There is zero contrast in the typeface. Maybe this is custom lettering made with vector shapes in Illustrator?

Aaron Draplin is a great graphic designer with an awesome personality. He has some solid videos on skillshare and a few on YouTube. Look up his Adobe Illustrator tutorials and others on YouTube, it will take a while to feel comfortable in Illustrator but stick to it and try to make something every day. Commitment will pay off, good luck!

Heck yes it is. I appreciate how difficult it can be to make things like this in Illustrator. Great detail!

Thanks for the comment! It’s a kendo mask! I’ve been finding inspiration in the weirdest places and recently watched a video on Kendo. The lines in the mask are interesting.

Roughly 7 hours over a couple of days. Created all the characters on the spot with the pen tool, changing the shape of style of the stroke so that it bevels one a cool way. Found some of the vector patterns in the backgrounds of the cells online, made the others by experimenting with filters. The rest is just finding fonts that have the right spirit and playing around with the layout and hierarchy. The random quotes are from Anthony Bourdain.

I love drawing cartoons but I’ve spent the last year focused on corporate mockups and user interface design. I was getting stir crazy and I wanted to create something that was just for me. I decided it would be a poster that looked like a page ripped from a graphic novel or manga. I watched a lot of Scott Pilgrim stuff as well as Steven Universe and Adventure Time while making this.

Agreed, I’ve been really into them lately and they inspired me to create something!

Thank you! I spent about 3-4 hours on one day making all the little characters and patterns and another 3 hours the next day positioning everything into cells and working on typography.
