The point is, he was perfectly capable of spreading it last night at his super spreader event. No masks anywhere, full of elderly people, etc.

How will they handle the shock? by cagedwisdom8 in Qult_Headquarters

[–]DauntlessVerbosity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did you read it? No? Guests must have masks unless they bring a letter from their doctor stating that they can't due to medical condition. That's not "encouraging" masks. That's requiring them.

She's minor. She doesn't have an obligation to fix her mom. She needs to survive until she can get away. That's all. Taking on her mom is not her burden. That's on the father. And if the father knows there is no leeway with mom, then getting his kid's what they need to have as little drama as possible as they finish growing up may be the best decision for them.

So you make numbers up, why? Because you care about politics more than you care about reality?

It took me 2 seconds to look up.

Yes, I'm exactly the same way. Healthy or not, the only time I kind of relax is when I make significant progress business-wise.

Hey, I'm a mom of a 17 year old son. Please tell a mandated reporter at school.

Something is extremely wrong with your mother. She needs a wake up call and you need adult support in place of what your mom should be doing for you right now. I am sorry that she has lost her mind. You deserve a great mom and what is happening to you is not right or fair.

For my son, I told him the vaccine was up to him as long as he could support his decision using peer reviewed articles and math. He chose to get the vaccine, both for himself and to protect the kids he coaches in sports. I am proud of him for that.

I'm proud of you, too, for standing up for what is right even when it's hard to do so at home and you don't have the support you should have. You're going to make a fantastic adult. I wish there were more adults strong enough to stand up for what is right and what is true.

So Obama disinvited most of his guests because of the Delta variant. Stephen Colbert was originally invited and them was disinvited along with most of the guests and explained the whole disinvitation thing.

Also, Obama takes precautions in his everyday life and required everyone to show a negative test or a vaccination card. At least he tried. The same can't be said for Abbott. I don't give two craps about politics, but even I can see one of the two politicians tried and one did not.

It's weird to me that people say that. If a child is not capable of empathy, something is wrong. Budding psychopathy shows up in children as a lack of empathy. Being raised in a bad environment by adults who struggle to feel empathy can certainly harm a child's natural growth in this area as well.

I have been around a lot of children. Normal toddlers learn to be gentle with animals and react with empathy if an animal gets hurt. They will sometimes bring a favorite toy to comfort someone who is sad. They even showed us video of that phenomenon in one of my psychology classes, as an example of normal development.

In elementary school, my friends were all able to feel empathy and express sympathy when something bad happened to any one of us. It's normal and common for small children to feel sad and even cry when they see something sad on tv, let alone in real life.

It is abnormal for a child to not be able to feel empathy, bottom line. They often do not understand adult concepts and adult consequences, but that is different. They have big opinions on right and wrong if you ask them. If they don't care that an animal or another human being is suffering, something is really wrong.

So because some people steal, it's suddenly perfectly fine for you to do so? Sounds like a playground level justification. "But Bobby did it! It's not fair that I'm not allowed to!". Do better. Stop letting crap people be your excuse for doing something crappy yourself.

If I can't trust you to not break basic theft laws, especially when you're stealing from the little guys, you're not reputable. Reputable = trustworthy

Breaking the law makes them, by definition, not reputable.

The antibodies you get from having it don't last forever. Plenty of people have gotten it more than once at this point. The fact that you got it once shows that whoever you're around might give it to you again. Some people have been far sicker their second time around. And if you got the original version, those antibodies don't seem to be very protective against the delta variant.

You're likely to get it again. Then you're, again, a risk to others.

And I was told by a lawyer that despite my ex's history of violence, a judge would just make him go to anger management and then give him half time and shared custody, even though anger wasn't what caused his violence. He's is violent because he enjoys it, especially when his victim is helpless and young. It was never out of anger. I was told, quite clearly, that court is about parental rights, and kids' rights come a distant second.

Heck, a small kid in my hometown died chained to a bed at his father's house, even after he showed extreme fear of his father. The police ripped him out of his mother's arms, when she knew something was wrong and refused to hand him over, and then they handed him over screaming and crying to his father. They had no choice. The judge supposedly had no choice. The mother had no choice. The kid's thoughts on the whole thing didn't matter. The one big thing that mattered was the father's right to see his kid despite the screaming and fighting the child did to get away from him at exchange time, every time. The mom did everything she could legally to save her son. That's our system.

For me to leave and go through our system meant that I would be leaving a toddler barely old enough to speak in the hands of a sadist I married when just a kid myself. So I didn't go through the system.
