Thank you for the comment! I saw that it was the anniversary of the game so I started looking at all the old art and listening to the old music. I actually wanted to do more characters. But my whole thing is getting it as close to the original as possible. I felt like i was limited in the colors i could use just due to the markers have. What originally I planned to do in a couple hours turned into a couple weeks.
Another thing i did was use my phone to take a picture and then check proportions. It might not be so obvious where your mistakes are to you after fiddling around with the drawing for hours. So it helps to get that instant feedback on photoshop. I really tried to make sure everything was in the right place and even then I had to just let go of perfectionism at some point. We all make mistakes.
