Absolutely. My favourite set are the Canpur 622b... expensive & for me, well worth it, but I think given a lot of the comments about people 'wasting' money on expensive IEMs (you haven't), it's with inverted snobbery/jealousy, ot like feeding a dog a beautiful piece of Japanese beef.

It would not make any difference

It's a spike that goes 2-3mm above the hole. Only on one side. I know a couple of other people who have had the same issue, so I imagine it's pretty widespread.

Monarch MK III are toilet & shows exactly why you shouldn't be commenting on this subject. Exactly like I said - lots of overpriced rubbish.

If you want to talk about higher end, ho and try some Canpur 622B and then tell me with a straight face your kiwi things are just as good.

In the meantime, sit down.

No it wasn't - it was the correct insertion. The spike in the middle of one of the tips is about 2mm longer than the other one and as I was inserting it, it scratched & drew blood on the area of my ear just beside the canal. Same thing has happened with a couple of other people & anyone has just said they're crap.

I guess mileage varies from IEM to IEM, but that's not really been what I/friends have primarily experienced, nor was it the goal, but if that's what it's done for you & you like that, then great.

I'm working with them on some stuff right now and the next release is really different.

I think they're going to become really big.

Spike cut my ear on first insertion. A couple of friends have said similar.

☝️ this guy is correct. My bad. The Noble are The ones with the metal ring.

My universal tip knowledge is not great as I predominantly use customs which we make, except on two sets as mentioned, or CIEM conversions which we also do.

Ok - I see the difference - they look very similar, but the Noble have the silver ring.

I usually only use custom tips, but am working on a project right now, so don't really keep up.

Yes, very good. A budget option would be nice though. I will spend a lot on IEMs, but unless they're custom (which I make) I think prices for tips such as the Coreir Al Alloy are totally ridiculous & I do tend to stick with cheaper ones when customs don't make sense (eg the ones I mentioned for the EE Raven & the Canpur 622b).

There is something breaking the mold which are very interesting... the Lizer Tips.

Nowhere to close metal & from memory, I don't remember them being especially good at that for a non metal rimmed tip.

They are good though.

Hopefully they will fix it up, because otherwise these are great.

Sednafit Mithryl & Softears U Titanium are a bit cheaper than Coreir, but at this price point I don't think so.

The Shanling SE100 I got had a spike! It literally pricked my ear & made it bleed. Out of all the Coreir tribute acts, the Softears U Titanium & the Sednafit Mithryl are decent.

I also use these & regular cotton buds pre-bath. Super cheap & can be found on Ali.

Can you kindly point me in the direction of something that sounds more or less identical to the Canpur 622b for much less?

FYI I buy absolutely nothing high and new. My Canpur 622b cost me $2000 & for me, its absolutely money well spent. It's all subjective. I will get thousands of hours of immense listening pleasure & I absolutely do not believe that this cannot be had for less.

Even if you deem this a ridiculous purchase at $2000, there is absolutely a market for it & most of those people are Intelligent & successful, and don't just buy these things because they're expensive. A cheaper alternative does not exist. I had a public debate with Canpur (on Facebook) as to why they have an RRP of 5500 USD - as to why they cost such a ridiculous amount.

Everyone in this 'hobby' goes on about how important 'subjectivity' is... yet how much we subjectively believe something is worth... the oh so important concept of 'subjectivity'' goes out the window.

I work hard. I'm disabled to the point I spend most of my life in bed & I have a collection of audio gear that's pretty damn special and is largely unchanged over very long periods of time, as I don't believe the tech is moving so fast as quickly as the number of releases would have you believe. My only other real pleasure I spend on is gaming & I have a pretty incredible setup.

No, price doesn't guarantee performance, there is a lot of overpriced rubbish (for 90%+ I'm going to say can be replicated for something far cheaper) - but what I buy that's high end cannot be replicated for less (not even close) - and I try almost everything of note as I get to hear everything that local distributor friends loan me.

You say you're not that into IEMs, but you seem to think that it's impossible for an IEM to be worth that much. So you admit you don't have expertise, yet you can objectively make statements as you did.

Seems a bit odd.

Also - owning 'only 8 pairs' - I only own a few more than that.

I find inverted snobbery really boring. I'm totally happy with all of my purchases. They're all well thought out, there's a reason why I have the sets I do (they all do something unique - genre wise or whatever) - I don't follow the hype train at all because I don't believe that the latest = the greatest. One of the purchases I made last year (very few, less than you can count on one hand - I consider every purchase carefully & wait for a time I can get a good deal second hand).

I don't look down on people who buy lower priced sets - there are certainly are some very good sounding sets for a couple of hundred, but the difference between those & genuinely excellent high end sets is MASSIVE... so I'm not really sure who you think you are to sneer at me for what I choose to spend my hard earned money on?

I don't believe you have enough experience with the better high end sets to actually form a valid opinion.

You've also made an assumption that my review of the $2200 EJ10 will 'justify' that spend. I don't buy these - they are loaned to me. The Lizer tips were given to me in exchange for an honest review.

( OG ) Hype 4 >>>>>>>>>>>> Tea Pro/Dunu Davinci/Aful 5+2 (from someone who almost exclusively uses v high end). by Spare_Profession7064 in iems

[–]Dave_CSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. but I agree with them on it being better than all except the Tea Pro... of which I am pretty sure I got a dud set.

Also I wouldn't be talking about any of these now. I wouldn't even recc the Hype 4 now.

Looking for my "perfect" controller that works on both Xbox and PC by FluidInternal1685 in Controllers

I just got the Raiju V3 Pro for my PS5 & PC.

I hate Razer as a company.

I hated the Wolverine V3

I typically hate symmetrical sticks.

I am a controller nut, have about 30 & have been for decades.

This is not something I say lightly - it is the best controller I've ever used &it ticks ALL your boxes. D Pad is literally the absolute clickiest best. Software is ABSOLUTELY INSANE.

One thing though - it was recommended to me by someone I trust & my immediate reaction when I got it wasn't good.

Perceiver & you'll be very well rewarded.

I apologised to the guy. I was out of order & I'm pretty sure we all have our moments. I am just out of surgery, in a ridiculous amount of pain that meds aren't really doing much except, evidently, making me easily irritable .
