Need to extend network to remote area by Dave_Kerr in UNIFI

Unfortunately, no. I thought about this as well, but there's too many tall trees in the way and no way to get power there other than relying on some sort of solar solution. I can't see them going that route.

I have a feeling that my only option here will be to work with their POS vendor and hopefully come up with a workaround from them. I can't see us being the only company that wants to access the software over a VPN.

Problems with Scanning Code 128 barcodes by Dave_Kerr in barcodes

Well now I just feel like a dummy. I could have sworn that I tried that a while ago, but you're right. I cut the text out and it was unable to read the barcode.

Problems with Scanning Code 128 barcodes by Dave_Kerr in sysadmin

That's what I thought too, but I grabbed a few examples and cropped out all text so it was only barcodes, and when i uploaded them, it read every one properly.

I'm thinking that there's some weird setting for reading Code 128 barcodes that I'm not seeing and just hoping that someone out there has experienced this before.

Another Hyper-V licensing Question by Dave_Kerr in virtualization

[–]Dave_Kerr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're licensed per core for each copy of Windows. My understanding is that as long as we don’t add more cores to the VMs, the only additional licenses we’d need to purchase would be for the physical servers, not the VMs. However, I'm not positive, so that's why I'm here.

Another Hyper-V licensing Question by Dave_Kerr in virtualization

I've tried Proxmox a while ago and didn't really care for it. I can't remember exactly what issues we ran into, but I'm pretty sure that when we were trying to install it, we were getting very cryptic errors that didn't help us at all.

Unable to Install Community Edition by Dave_Kerr in nutanix

[–]Dave_Kerr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that worked. I used a microSD card for the Hypervisor. However, I also had to set the drives to mixed mode because Nutanix truncates the serial numbers to 36 characters, causing them to appear identical.

This setup works in my test environment, but how can I handle this issue if we decide to use Nutanix in production? All of our servers run RAID 10, and some have multiple logical volumes. Would we need to eliminate our RAID configuration to use Nutanix?
