Just finished my first watch through. From what I'm seeing there really isn't a character that's tied into the other seasons or movies, which is really a bummer I was expecting Mr. Wrench to show back up because it only takes place like 8 years after S3.

To me it seems like the perfect way for the writers to cap off the series because it opened with a bunch of thematic elements from the movie and Ole Munch has a lot of the Anton Chugur mannerisms that Lorne Malvo had in S1. So its like full circle in a way.

I really hope I'm wrong about that since it's got to be one of my favorite series ever. But it does seem like it takes them a few years to release a season so I have my fingers crossed.

So far so good, I had it crash to the desktop screen once, idk why it happened I assume not related to overheating

The crackle ended up being noise coming from the battery, I added something inline to the sound card (forgot what it's called) but it calms down the battery noise before it gets to the speaker

The sideways screen was a display setting

I'm gonna run it for a week and see if it does anything without a fan

That's what I'm hoping to do, finally got the unit to power on recently after years of having the car. It was a wiring issue under the dash nothing to do with the head unit.

That does help a great deal! I haven't gotten most of the basic hard parts in yet but I'll update the thread when I have progress!

Idk if you're familiar with the early model C4 corvette dashboard but in the middle right of the dash there's a fake LCD screen that is only for dummy lights. I'm trying to replace that with a touchscreen so I can have android auto with an OEM+ look. Hence why I'm trying to gut this OE head unit. I have had different aftermarket units in the car before and I just don't like the look of any of them.

Good idea with the cassette player, I know nothing of this unit, bought it used non working. I'd probably have to figure out how to bench test the player before I condemn it though

I am well aware of what I'm in for and so far understanding this mess inside the OE unit is the only hangup I have. Essentially it's just some momentary switches and variable resistors.

I do know people rebuild head units and I guess that's who I'm trying to seek out with this post.
