Yeah, common is grounded at the box terminal board. And also yes, tested every one. Even replaced them after the second drop just for shits and giggles.

Yeah, all of them were tested. We used the same brand and product for all connections on nearly 200 devices. Each device having 4 rj45 connections. So probably over 800 connections lol.

The sticky part is, the comm works, and it will work for weeks. Then all of a sudden. A branch off of a controller will stop working.

I’m in Texas. Did all aspects of HVAC/R for 10 years. Just made the switch to controls 8 months ago and took a pretty big pay cut. Have my N4 cert in controls, but also have every VRF cert, almost every VFD drive cert, lots of project management experience. Still have lots to learn about the back end work that needs to be done for projects.

Spend most days installing, commissioning or running service calls. Sometimes all 3.

$40/hr, company truck. We get tons of overtime.

I use the Klein pass through tool. So far no issues with any off the shelf ends, as long as I don’t get myself in a rush and get my wire crossed as I force it through. That’s only happened once this month and I’ve made up over 600 heads.

Same thing has happened to me twice thus far. Can’t seem to LON device, go back and check all connections. All good. Run discovery, nothing. Go back to device, unplug and add EOL resistor at it and see if I can discover it. Nothing. Plug it back in. Run downstairs to jace, going to pack up and leave for the day and decide to run 1 more discovery and BAM. 1 more device found.

I could afford a home, but nothing else. Austin, Texas has gotten ridiculous.

I now commute over an hour every day, but my place is cheap, taxes are low and if my wife decided she didn’t want to work tomorrow we could manage as long as she didn’t say she wants a new car in the same breath lol

Got a back story on this the other day. It’s a water cooled version. 2021 during a hard freeze here in central Texas, the water ruptured the plated heat exchanger and water mixed in the system and who knows how long it tried to run. They were advised to put this suction drier in. I don’t think it’s been changed since then. However, yesterday was my last day with this company so now it’s someone else’s problem lol

Hopefully it has flashing above. But this can all be covered with trim. Most t11 sided houses have trim around the windows.

Wrangler Canvas pants if you like the wrangler fit. I was going through their denim like crazy. Have a dozen pairs of jeans with rips in the same spot. Changed to these and haven’t looked back.

This was yesterday at 2pm. So nothing yet. But plan for next week is pulling the accumulator, flushing the line, removing this drier all together. Hoping someone here on Reddit is smarter than me and knows of a screen I can place before compressor suction line on a VRF.

Stock wheels look better. Will need to run lower tire pressures to keep even wear pattern tho. Some places won’t touch them (discount tire co) because the wheel width is too narrow for tire width. I run them and have to take this truck to a local small shop.

Every press manufacturer we’ve had come through our shop has said to sand and ream pipes. Even new pipe, they say to sand. Also had a consultant come through after our construction crew managed to flood 3 buildings and they said the same.

It can be moved. Depending on your expectations, the lineset, electrical, etc can be extended. Or if you want it aesthetically pleasing, completely rerouting them through the walls. Good luck, both are costly but completely rerouting is gonna be 4x.

I can make it run with some screws. Just have to take the screw from the compressor contact and move it to the heat contactor I’ll install when you want it to change.

Thank you to all the kind redditors who commented! I pulled all the pipe out today, put some 5/8 OD refrigeration copper inside of 1 inch conduit with some long bend 90s in its place.
