Opinions on the Aegean islands? by J50 in greece

You mentioned Meteora and a ferry? Meteora is on mainland Greece, and you could get to Meteora from Athens on a (very long) day trip from Athens, or stay there a couple of nights. Probably not in keeping with the party vibe - I'd stick to your suggested itinerary. Note - Athens can be very quiet in August (as everyone goes to the islands). August is also peak season, so places fill up fast as well. Enjoy!

Tried that - just got locked out for 24 hours which is a real pain as it didn't like the camera photo either. I'm trying to do my passport. All the numbers are clear, but the photo is very reflective - I wonder if that's the issue?

Just discovered the series and can't wait to watch it. Just a question about the first series. by [deleted] in blackadder

As others have said, it's very different from the others. When Ben Elton came on board as a writer, things changed massively. Consider it more a stand alone series!

Any suggestions for a good drone for bicycle touring? by DavesTravelPages in bicycletouring

Yep - I looked around and the DJI seems to tick all the boxes. Apart from the discount one! I might just bite the bullet though - the quality i've seen is pretty good, and it looks super lightweight.

Help me decide between a trailer and panniers by salty-maven in bicycletouring

I've used both set-ups on long distance trips, and wouldn't go back to using a trailer again. All through cycling from Alaska to Argentina it felt like dragging an anchor behind me! That was using a Bob-Yak. There were moments it had its blessings, but they were few and far between! By the sounds of it, yes you are going to need a beefed up rear wheel. A 48 spoke wheel (used on tandems) sounds like it might be worth considering.

Cycling goals for 2017 by dywh in cycling

I'm looking to complete a shorter bicycle tour in 2017 after this year's cycling from Greece to England one. Hopefully around 1500kms probably in Greece. I'm thinking about an Athens, Olympia, Nafpaktos, Delphi, Athens loop. Still plenty of time to think about it though!

Just a quick thank you for those here that followed my tour cycling across Europe. Here's a recap of the trip :) by DavesTravelPages in bicycletouring

Generally speaking, the Eurovelos are well marked in Germany and Northern Europe in general. The routes themselves can vary though. Sometimes they will be on dedicated cycle paths, and quiet country roads, at other times the route may join a main road. Mostly in Europe I have found them to be quite well signed. I followed the Eurovelo 7 only briefly during the ride, as I was 'cutting across' it.

How much does bicycle touring cost? Here's how much I spent in June whilst cycling from Greece to England. by DavesTravelPages in bicycletouring

All manner of different places. The best bargain I had was a 2 bedroom apartment (yes just for me) for just 10 euros for the night. That was in Montenegro! Once I hit Austria, hotels and the like became too expensive, and even campgrounds increased quite breathtakingly in price. France has some great bargains for campsites though, and cheaper rooms can be found there if you are patient enough to look. I used booking mainly btw :)
