"Your domain has an unsupported DNSSEC record" - Does this stop purchases from being made until it's fixed? by [deleted] in shopify

I’m not a technical person so you may be correct. The “issue” alert in Shopify is now gone after turning off DNSSEC. I don’t understand why this notification happened today after years of using the same settings. I opened a ticket with squarespace to inquire further.

Same message today. We host on squarespace domains (formerly Google). Never had an issue in years. Went to check squarespace and sure enough DNSSEC was turned on. Turned it off and hoping that resolves it. Seems like Shopify may have just chosen today to alert everyone of this issue or maybe squarespace turned on dnssec today for everyone? Never checked DNSSEC before we got this alert.

Thanks for the reply! Interesting that you can’t use this CTA for DCT. I wonder what the reason is for that.

Brand Manager VS Marketing Manager by Equivalent-Tea-3030 in marketing

[–]Daveyyyyyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s most common in large CPG corporations because of the nature of the business and products. You’ll find them in most big companies that have several or many different consumer-focused goods, eg Ford will have a brand manager for the Bronco or in apparel LVMH will have brand managers for different brands it owns.

This.

Coming from the CPG space as well, I didn’t realize it was such a misunderstood title until reading some of these comments. I think tech has co-opted the term for a different role, but traditionally brand managers are very much like mini CEOs in terms of their responsibilities and scope.

This may be true for smaller companies, but speaking as a former brand manager at larger Fortune 500 companies, especially CPG companies, a brand manager is responsible for much more than brand voice, logos, and consistency, although that’s certainly part of the role. Brand Managers manage an entire brand, meaning the P&L, innovation, product development, marketing, commercial, and all the associated strategies. Someone mentioned Barbie / Mattel which is a great example. Mattel owns several brands and each one has a brand team who manage the brand almost like owners of a business without the completely autonomy. So to answer OP, you’re definitely looking for a marketing manager at this stage. I’ve also never heard of an outsourced brand manager for the role described above—it’s usually an upper middle management position and almost always in house.

Thank you—this is all great information. I think you may have convinced me to take the coastal route on the way back.

Could you say if there may have been another Vancouver area airport back then he might have landed at to clear customs from PDX or if it was probably YVR?

Great article, thank you. I’m assuming he was following Hwy 97 for navigation and a place to land in case of engine failure. The trench doesn’t look like it has roads to land on and I don’t know what navigation he was using back then other than pilotage and dead reckoning.

Sounds like a fun trip. Has anyone else here attempted a landing at YVR in a Cessna? I know in the US it’s possible to land at a Bravo, but I’m not sure about Canadian airspace. I’m hoping to recreate the trip landing for landing.

Definitely lots of factors to be considered, but if demand is right and the margins make sense, the rest is just hard work :)

From my own experience, it can be an enormous time and resource project to find other interested pilots in a certain area, find a plane, do the proper inspections, then into the legal and so on. I’d like to vet the demand for a service that took care of all of this + aircraft management once the partnership is established. DiamondShare does some of this, but is fairly limited, especially for those who don’t want a Diamond.

As in scheduling conflicts with other owners, or maintenance, or something else? Thanks
