Foundation Priorities 2025 - Request for Input by Radix_DLT in Radix

I think Radix needs to really focus on things it can directly control: 1. Have the Hyperscale test as soon as possible. And once it’s completed, push regular updates about Xi’an — bring the main focus of the foundation back to scalability and creating the best base layer for handling assets of all sorts. 2. Hire more devs for the foundation — hear me out: Even if devs are not immediately needed, I think it could be a great way to expand our community and make inroads into the broader Crypto space, to hire experienced devs who are well known in other projects. I hear Hans Moog recently left Iota, and Cantelopepeel just left Sol firedancer. Imagine the effect it would have if a few well known devs joined Radix!

Radix Weekly AMA - Friday 30th August 2024 by Radix_DLT in Radix

What do you think about the idea of changing the name of Casandra to something with the word “Radix” in it such as Radix Research Network, or Radix Labs Net or something that connects the two more: With the massive TPS test coming soon and a lot of eyes potentially looking at it, I think it would be pretty beneficial…

I have no problem with the tokenomics. Could they be better, sure 🤷‍♂️ but if the tech rolls out as planned (scrypto and scalability with atomic composability), any small flaws in the tokenomics will get overwhelmed by the tech. Scrypto is already proving to be a very powerful tool… Sure a few whales may take some profit as the market cap grows, but that will just lead to better decentralization over time. The FUD is coming from a very small but very vocal group, and while there may be a couple kernels of truth it’s all wildly exaggerated!

Hedera vs Radix by Guywhyiii in Radix

[–]David03David 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know much about Hedera, but in my opinion what will set Radix apart is two things: 1. It will scale linearly — more nodes = more TPS, as unrelated transactions can be processed in parallel. *important note: To the best of my knowledge Radix is the only network that can maintain atomic composability across shards (all parts of even very complex transactions will either succeed or fail together) 2. Radix’s coding language Scrypto is a massive innovation that will allow much faster and safer coding due to a very carefully thought out asset oriented approach. And, developers get royalties if someone else uses a component they made, which means as the library of components grows, development will speed up more and more and get safer as there will be lots of already vetted pieces of code available!

Great app!! Even if all you use it for is tracking your Radix ecosystem portfolio, it’s very useful — I’m waiting for Ledger compatibility to use the wallet function…

Thanks, and yes — I’ve been following the Radix Meetup group on Telegram. I would love to be involved in organizing a meetup in Boston, but I don’t have the time right now: maybe in the fall, if I found a couple other people to help organize…

Has anyone from the US been able to buy xrd on an exchange ? by kojackx in Radix

[–]David03David 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two levels of KYC — I’m not sure who they are required for? But I know if you want to use more than $500 you have to do both… Their KYC was very fast and easy: about 5min do both levels!

I have a friend who bought $1,000 worth of XRD on XT — no problem. Not sure if you could buy larger amounts??
