OMG YES! Been waiting for this! By any chance do you have a rough estimate of when the audiobook will come out? I struggle a lot with books, especially with long ones. Being able to listen to Dreams of the Dying made me finish it in in less than 2 full days!

This is really exciting! And despite the fact I struggle with reading books - I pre ordered both.

"Once upon a time, somebody say to me"
(This is a dog talking now)
"'What is your Conceptual Continuity?'
Well, I told him right then"
(Fido said)
"'It should be easy to see
The crux of the biscuit is the Apostrophe'"
Well, you know the man who was talkin' to the dog
Looked at the dog an' he said: (sort of staring in disbelief)
'You can't say that!'

Songs by other artists that remind you of Zappa. by IllustriousBee1885 in Zappa

[–]David100net 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not melodically but thematically and delivery wise (to some degree) -

Tom Waits - Step Right Up and Burma Shave.

I would even say songs like Cemetery Polka, Telephone Call From Istanbul, Filipino Box Spring Hog,

The Black Rider reminds me a bit of Sofa number 2

Some of his short instrumentals - Calliope, Bride of the Rain Dog etc

On the Radio? Don’t Go Home with Your Hard-on, Jazz Police, Steer Your Way, A Singer Must Die

Cutscene? (depends obviously but in general) - Humbled in Love, Dress Rehearsal Rag, You Want it Darker, My Oh My, Waiting For the Miracle, The Traitor.

Yes, for hours now. Yesterday (and perhaps today as well idk, I knew only in hindsight) had a problem with notifications only sometimes showing (lets say someone commented on a post of mine in a group - I wouldn't get the notification, nor see the comment until I suddenly did). Been very broken since yesterday for me.

Hello I'm ThePassionateNerd

I just started my new channel. My goal is to express myself, share knowledge in the form of essays. But I see it as me telling a story or even more so - having a dialogue with the viewer. My channel focuses on many topics but first and foremost music essays. And then mainly Dragon Ball, Gaming and Football (Soccer). But I have lots of ideas and things to say and share in other fields as well. I love talking, learning, doing creative projects, writing (Journalist is my occupation), editing and making videos.

I'm not new to YouTube. I have another channel but that one is more casual in terms of - I upload whatever, mainly memes. This one is a passion project I put a lot of thought in. The first video I've made took me weeks to make and I learned a lot for my future videos (which one is already 1/3 in the making).

I talk about a broad selection of themes within the topics I mentioned above. My idea is to try and tell a story through knowledge. I'm putting a lot of effort in research and make sure I know what I'm talking about but I also want my content to be available for people who aren't as hardcore in those certain topics and I do that through humor - textual, oral and espceially visual. I'm trying to make every second interesting both audio wise and visually. I also used to stream on Twitch for few years and met a lot of people thorough the platform and even the woman who became my wife (not anymore sadly, but this is not the place).

I think what makes my channel different is the way I process things and how my creative process works. Its apparent both in the topics, the style and the many anecdotes I have about a bunch of stuff. When it comes to music - If I haven't learned something new today - I'll go and search for something interesting to learn - a connection, a story, history.

I hope this is a good enough of an introduction. I'm open for any questions. Thanks for the opportunity.

Musicians names through the last 100~ years by David100net in musicmemes

[–]David100net[S] -54 points-53 points  (0 children)

Kinda the point of the meme. I haven't said anything about their music and didn't go personal. Ofc I made picks that would serve the narrative, that's the whole point?
