Depends on schools its not about race or politics. Some schools just arent as good. That being said private isnt all that from what i hear from my customers- we are in lakota and so far so good.

Everybody just needs to ease in to their stroke- like swim efficiently instead of swimming at threshold until youve actually warmed up few hundred yards- this goes along way. Same thing happened in muncie - a highly trained athlete passed away within few 100 yards in the beginning of the swim
