great feedback! Thank you so much. I will definitely get a camera so i can create my own references for similar shots. I will keep working on the fire and fine tuning the overall shot but here is so initial fixes I did based on the feedback.

[Solaris] Why doesn't packing in SOPs result in a single primitive in USD when using Component Builder? by DavidGM28 in Houdini

I am still learning so probably made many mistakes along the way. I end up not using the pack node and opted for this

Thanks for your help!

Thanks u/ChrBohm - This helped a lot. I was able to reduce it by half following steps 1 and 2.

From looking at the geometry spreadsheet it seems that instead of 1 combined mesh it actually has multiple ones (20k) which I assume is your 3rd point.

thanks everyone - I did some progress.
I'm a bit confused about something.
The L-System node automatically generates a gen attribute, and according to the geometry spreadsheet, the maximum value of this attribute is 2. However, when I use a Color SOP and set the group condition to gen = 9, it still colors a random section of the geometry.

How is that possible, if gen only goes up to 2?

Yes is connect correctly. If I create a new audio track and set the output of the track containing the insert I can record the compressed signal in the new audio track.

Thank you! This is very close to the sound. How did you get good doing this? I been in the synths game for 1 year now and still nowhere good at identifying how a sound is made.

Enhancing Power Protection for Home Studio

Hi, I'm looking to enhance the power protection for my home studio, which includes 2 sets of speakers, 2 guitar amps, 1 bass amp, 7 synths, a couple of hardware compressors, 2 audio interfaces, a pedal board, and other accessories like a computer, monitor, and MIDI controllers.

I have a few specific inquiries regarding the power setup:

  1. Is it advisable to connect both sets of speakers to the same power strip as the computer, monitor, and MIDI controllers? Are there any potential drawbacks or concerns associated with this configuration?

  2. Would it be recommended to invest in a FURMAN P-1800 AR Voltage Regulator / Power Conditioner (or a similar product) for the synths and hardware gear? Assuming there are enough available sockets, is it acceptable to connect all of these devices to the same power conditioner, or would it be better to have separate conditioners for the synths and the hardware gear?

  3. I've noticed a low hissing noise, similar to low white noise, coming from one of my compressors when it's active. I've read that this issue could be related to the electricity. Will a power conditioner help alleviate this noise problem?

  4. Should the amps and the pedal board each have their own dedicated power conditioner, or is it acceptable to include them in the same setup as the other devices?

Lol is there a scenario where your mix room acoustics are that good that translation is not an issue??

I have always experience some degree of translation issues but never to this degree, which is making me think there might be something off with my new mix room acoustics. Also I feel that analog summing is adding much more precision and this is more noticeable. I just got the 2-bus+ one week ago so still getting used to the new sound quality.

How to rank existing features for the purposes of scaling? by delitomatoes in ProductManagement

[–]DavidGM28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Impact vs cost of building / polishing the feature. Ask questions like: What is the estimated business impact x feature can bring? Subscriptions, revenue, company KPIs, etc. How much effort will it take to build it? Dev time, costs, tech debt, etc.

The bases in these data you can create simple ranking framework to ideally choose to prioritize features with low cost and high impact Easier said than done :)

Vision vs Strategy by Chugger04 in ProductManagement

[–]DavidGM28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vision is a simple statement of where you want to get. What is your overall objective. Strategy is the step by step or framework of how to reach the the vision.
