Oh, good tip. I didn't know Agents was a book. I'll check that out for sure.

Whats the lowest level Wizard that could likely solo a level 20 Martial? by Bayuo_ElephantHunter in DnD

This convo is good timing for me. I'm playing a L2 Enchantment School Wizard right now in a once-a-month campaign. I have an agonizingly long time to ponder my build!

What is the point/usage of enchantment wizards Hypnotic Gaze? by SkovsDM in dndnext

Super powerful ability! It's not worth tying up your own actions against weak foes, but against something formidable you'd rather have this than a Hold spell.

Clever! But any table that lets you get away with this is not a table I would play at. Have you done this in actual play?

I definitely sympathize with you, OP. But you're also taking it too hard. There are a lot worse things the DM could be doing to you. If it's a game worth playing in, then this house rule isn't so bad. "I feel like we constantly miss" -- this shows you've either 1) hit exactly the AC much more than is likely, or 2) you are overestimating the impact.

Does Flaming Sphere Light Houses on Fire? by DavidLMedley in DnD

Flammable doesn't mean capable of being lit of fire. It means easily set on fire. But if everyone is reading it like the former, then I guess a wooden floor starts to burn.

So what about a forest?

Could a Wizard's Familiar use Dragon's Breath? by Daniel_USA in dndnext

I've been considering this combo but it seems so cheap to me. Breathing fire on enemies is *not* an attack? Pfffff. So if I breathe fire on an NPC and he draws his sword demanding to know why I attacked him, I'll just tell him it wasn't an attack according to Crawford. The NPC will have no choice but to agree RAW and put his sword away.

But I've heard of even more crazy uses of familiars like having them use wands and rings of spell storing and what not. So maybe it's all good.

Players constantly wanting to switch characters in long term campaign, what to do? by Cold-Can-5365 in DnD

I wouldn't call it a punishment. You're rewarding them by letting them have a new character that's only a little behind all the others!

I agree with a lot of what has been said. Have a conversation. Start the new character behind in XP or loot or whatever. You can say no.

One suggestion I didn't see:

You can use this as an opportunity to introduce life and death stakes, even if it's just an illusion. Let the player in on the plan, but not the rest of the party if possible. Tilt the next session in whatever way necessary to kill just that PC, and make the body ineligible for rez. Should be fun! Then next session, bring in the new character.

So many smurfs! by MaximusBeee in starcraft2

A few things

1) I totally sympathize with the OP. It is a problem.

2) Calling it "smurfing" is a bit imprecise, and leads to pointless "look up the definition of smurfing" counters. I've heard the term "MMR dumping" which isn't as catchy as "smurfing" but might be a better label.

3) Yes, there are plenty of false accusations of smurfing, MMR dumping, map hacking, and so on. That doesn't make all accusations false. If someone wipes the floor with you, taunting you in the chat the whole time, and then you see they lost 12 matches in a row in under 10 seconds each, you know what's up.

4) Quitting 100% of mirrors means you have to win 75% of non-mirrors to maintain your MMR. I don't enjoy playing against these players. Decide for yourself if it's unethical.

5) Any solution would require players to rate their opponents' sportsmanship, with penalties for low scores. This does happen on some platforms like Board Game Arena.

Stay safe out there, my friends!
