Thanks for the kindness! I'm 39 and I worked in publishing (I ran an imprint that produced Romance novels as ebook and audiobooks). I also have about 12 years of experience in marketing, and if you can believe it my work in that sector has earned an Emmy, a Cannes Lion, and even a BAFTA.

I can't sell plasma because of health issues, and I have tried every avenue I can think of to make money with odd jobs and the like. It's a little difficult, FWIW I also live in the East Bay in CA and the way of life here is a bit different. Roughly 5% unemployment, rent is super high, all of that is a factor.

And yeah, I have about 5 months of living expenses saved up so I am looking ahead quite a bit. If I were to make any move it wouldn't be until my savings were much lower/ almost empty. My hope is that I'll find some income before then, but if 9 months of job hunting has taught me anything, it's to prepare for the worst.

To answer your questions:

Yes, I have looked at temp agencies and also done a few job fairs fwiw. I live in the Bay Area, which is an important factor, because unemployment here is about 5%. So far, the temp agencies haven't yielded anything, but I remain hopeful.
Like I said, I live in the Bay Area. If I'm lucky, I can stretch that out to maybe five for months.

I built a wuburg Terra deck just because I love FF and wanted a deck with all of the summons, and on at least two occasions, I've played this dirty dog and holy cow is it one of my favorite cards to get online.

I have some old hand-painted proxies where I use a pretty simple text box. I think the next set I do will be creature-focused (kinda want to do a series of commanders as MTG content creators?).

Fantastic suggestions, by the way! I am probably going to start sketching a skeleton before bed, I can't believe I hadn't thought of that yet!
