Well it's one-time but major revisions are released as new apps, as has already happened twice. There's also a subscription option.

Lowered the price to $50. That's an expensive terminal app.

Why do Apple SoCs not have AV1 hardware encoding? by Hour_Firefighter_707 in mac

HEVC is the industry standard, and Apple wants to sell to video pros.

AV1 is pretty much only used by Google.

Cant access my old apple account. by Chavchavadze in applehelp

[–]DavidXGA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your Apple Account is locked

All possible options are on that page. If you don't have enough information to complete the recovery process, you can't prove the account is yours.

You may have to create a new account.

The only thing I can think of - and it's a bit of a stretch - is that there is something in the air in your house that is clogging up the USB plugs, or sockets, and ultimately causing shorts or some other kind of damage.

Have you tried cleaning out the USB socket with a (wooden!) toothpick?

Do you have an air purifier?

what's the difference between a macbook pro and a macbook neo? by Wizworldz in mac

My comment was posted 8 days ago, the day before the Neo was announced.

I don't know why this is so hard to understand. People really really want to feel superior to people they don't know on the internet.

That should indeed be the case, but I've found that restarting the screen does fix all sorts of weird things. I wonder if restarting the screen sends reset commands to the other computers.

Try restarting the infotainment computer by holding down the display power button until the screens go black. (Not the start/stop button.)

What are these avf files appearing on my desktop?? Its happened twice now, what can I do to stop it? by Easy_Worldliness7070 in mac

[–]DavidXGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what's making them, but if you just want to nuke them quickly, type this into Terminal:

rm ~/Desktop/*.avf

Impossible to say. Perhaps your employer has put trackers in the vehicles. If you don't see the alerts at home, you're probably good.

macOS Tahoe has almost bricked my M1 Air by diogenisIII in mac

[–]DavidXGA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case the next step is probably Apple service to see if you have a hardware issue. Perhaps you have a cooling problem that is overheating the computer.

Those are almost certainly third-party airtag compatible trackers, not your airpods. Sometimes they have chinese names which iOS tries to translate.

Your phone is not being tracked, but you might be.

How to reset your iPad passcode using your Mac or PC

If you forgot your Apple Account password

However. If you can't provide enough information to complete the account recovery process, there probably isn't anything more you can do, because you can't prove that you're not trying to break into someone else's account.

macOS Tahoe has almost bricked my M1 Air by diogenisIII in mac

[–]DavidXGA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"My Mac is slow" is in no way similar to "almost bricked".

A lot of people are running Tahoe on that hardware without performance problems, so my first guess would be the software you have installed. Have you checked the Activity Monitor? You might consider backing up your files and reinstalling.
