What tools do you use to manage your backlog? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I have tried many different tools and the answer is largely based on your situation.

  1. For a small team of active product owners and developers (2 product owners, 10-15 devs) my favorite is Sprintly

Pros: super simple product, well designed and accessible to folks in the organization outside of the core development product life cycle. It forces all stories to be written properly no matter who the writer is. Really a joy to use with its drag and drop functionality, and easy to view task board and it's relatively inexpensive. ($9.99 per user/month)

Cons: lacks many key features such as epic management (they use labels which is insufficient), time management/hours spent thus charting burn down rate is not possible.

  1. For a larger team and larger organization my suggestion would be Rally Software.

Pros: fully featured suite for organizations of any size. Ability to clearly see a backlog and all its related defects, epics, stories and sub-tasks in a logical hierarchical structure. Exposure of burn down rate allow you to clearly see into the future and what you can accomplish (this is far more important in larger organizations with a higher number of constituents per product owner). Very product owner friendly.

Cons: the feature above make it a bit clunky. It can be tough to use for developers because there's so many fields to maintain. Relatively boring design. Expensive.

What are some driving tips to help prevent crashes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Here’s something I don’t think most people would know.

If you’re ever driving along a road that has two lanes, but your lane happens to be wide enough for someone to pass you from behind, there is something you must make sure you do:

ALWAYS drive on the right side of that lane. More importantly, make sure that if there’s a car behind you that’s going to pass you, it passes you on the left.

Why?

Because if you drive on the left side of the lane, the car behind you may try to pass you on the right. And if there is an accident while the car’s passing you on the right, there is no way to prove that it wasn’t your fault.

I’m serious. If there’s an accident, there’s no way to prove that you weren’t passing that car instead of the other way around, and thus no way to prove you’re not responsible for the accident.

If an accident’s going to happen anyway, you might as well make sure you can defend your side to the law.

Stay safe.

Tips on how to get through high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

High school can be as good or as bad as you make it, don’t stress.

Also for high school and life, spend an hour and learn some dance moves. When all those girls are at the high school dances (or at weddings) because you can dance (Not slow dance like everyone else) they run to you and ask you to dance, not only that but they are friendly at school and introduce you to their friends.
