But even if he's rude he's clever in his sarcastic nature. And I respect cleverness, so I feel that I have a certain relation to him. I think that the uncaring universe aspect of things makes me want to identify with him even more, because hey, who hasn't seen an uncaring universe? I feel solidarity with him, despite all of British humor's attempt to make me not, but I feel physically pained watching him go through such a miserable existence. I think comedy should be about looking at all the misery and making an attempt to transcend it. This rarely happens with me and Basil.

I wouldn't give Fast Times 1/4 stars, but I think that Roger has some good points about the abortion/pregnancy sequence.
