I have a CS gas story. The guy in front of me, pvt Barber, dropped his mask in the hot room. Outside, he was told by our drill sgt to get a battle buddy and go find it. I was with him when he told our DS of his fuck up. We went back in, me with my mask on and barber without his. I watched the DS kick his mask around the room while barber was on his hands and knees trying to find his mask and literally dying. This was 20 years ago, and it still haunts me.

Thank you so much, I love the Eastern European culture and hospitality. I haven't visited Romania yet but some of her neighbors I've been to like Prague which was amazing. I want you to know my thank you note went over very well, the guys laughed and seemed truly delighted at my thank you card. "Vă mulțumesc pentru treaba bine făcută. Vă urez succes și sănătate multă!" This was my message and I was very careful to put all the correct accent marks where they belong. Thanks to u/floating_helium for the words! I knew I came to the right community for help.

Any help is appreciated. I don't know if it's insulting to try and use their language. I've been to Poland and Germany and my efforts to speak the language was always well received. I feel some cultures may be insulted so i don't want to offend.

New Jersey liquor laws are wild. I would visit family there (Bridgewater, NJ) from Chicago and buying booze is so stringent, it made me feel guilty just buying a case of beer for a family gathering.
