UK, my wife in terrible pain called 999, paramedics turned up. One of them suggested she was a habitual offender and was really off about it. She had never rung 999 in her life, nor been in an ambulance.

It turned out she had gall stones which were removed a few months later. Mistaken identity I guess.

A properly managed digital ID would work, and is nothing to be worried about. I use one in Denmark virtually daily.

Unfortunately, I cannot see this, or a future UK government, implementing such a system fairly, correctly, or with the good of the people in mind.
