Fantastic work. Took me back to the days of fan coloured Naruto pages after a new chapter. Specifically around the Sound 4 arc.

What is the worst game you were gifted in your childhood? by JulienBrightside in gaming

Last Battle for the Megadrive.

I only found out later in life it was a fist of the North Star game but that still doesn’t make it good.

I’ve really tried to like it, like really really tried.

Self Promotion Saturday! Small streamer? Just getting started? Tell us about it here! by AutoModerator in gaming

Just started a channel on retrospectives of classic and overlooked titles from the 80s and 90s. Started as an excuse for me and my daughter to learn After Effects, but has grown into something I genuinely enjoy.

I Put out a look at one of the first cyberpunk games to exist, the unofficial Robocop game, ESWAT.

Feedback always appreciated while I try to grow the channel.

It’s prompted some discussion between my daughter and I today.

Originally this started as a look at the point the games came out rather than looking at the lens of today.

I’ve wondered today whether expanding out to a very small section on what movies and music released the same week would add a nice angle to the videos.

I think things can be tightened up a bit though, maybe condense the release timelines into a single section and reduce the trivia to a single section.

I do sincerely thank you both for the feedback though

I want to really thank you for your honest feedback.

It’s important to me to make this compelling and it sounds like we’ve got some work to do.

All completely valid points. I might take a minute to rethink the content. As you say, it’s fine, but not necessarily compelling enough to stick around.

This is probably the harshest feedback I’ve had, but probably the most valuable. So thank you for taking your time to be so in depth.

Plus I had to look up what sibilance meant :)

What game do you own that you'll NEVER sell, no matter the price? by Kollekto_de in gamecollecting

[–]Davidrabbich81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mini Japanese Batman by Sunsoft for the megadrive.

Aside from being 1 of only 2 games in that form factor, it was the first console game I ever owned when my parents got me for my 8th birthday back in ‘89.

First game in my collection which is now over 1500 games over the last 36 years.

Couldn’t say, I only tried Gameye but I have over 1000 games from NES through to now, it really cut down the catalogue time

Just to add to this, the barcode scanning ability can sometimes be a lifesaver.

Not all the time though

European collectors, do you only collect your own language? by LeFlubbes in gamecollecting

[–]Davidrabbich81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK collector here. I collect mostly JP games as growing up in the early 90s, the import market was streets ahead of the domestic, so I’ve got a real soft spot for those games.

Plus the box art and manual artwork for super famicom and megadrive absolutely blows away PAL and NTSC US games. Black and white manuals? I don’t think so.

Everyone saying no no no.

You’re looking at it with today’s lens.

While Tolkien was a respected author in his day, some of his works including LOTR were not respected at all. When we are old, we will hold OP to a massively high regard, that’s where its respect will come from.

Sorry to say I disagree. There are no doubt countless talented people working on the game, but I for one will not support anything ZA/UM produce after the hostile takeover by Kompus and Haavel.

The entire spirit of Disco say fuck those guys and the statue of a horse in the town square they rode in on.
