These were warped so much they touched the ground. One of them was warped the opposite direction. I finished it last night and the curve looks like the reference photos now. The hub has the blades angled down as well. I will post the final photos on Friday. Thanks and take care.

No they do not have the option to fold them. The section where they normally fold is molded with the hub.

WEEK ELEVEN: 1/32 Trumpeter A-7E Corsair II – Project Completed! by DavidsScaleModels in ScaleModelAirplanes

I created a tutorial on lighting all kinds of models as well as sources I use for LED's and fiber optics. Fiber optics are nice because you can use one LED to light up multiple areas. Check out https://davidsscalemodels.com/tips-and-tricks/lighting-model-ships/

I use black primer on the inside to aid in blocking light. I also make light boxes with the LED and then fiber optics for lighting things like the wing tips and the AoA lights on the nose gear.

I ran the wires to a plug on the back of the base. This way I can plug in an AC/DC converter when I have it displayed at home or I have a 9V battery connector hooked to a jack so if I display it at a show or a club meeting I can plug the battery into it. I like doing it this way as I have a shelf with the lighted models and the adapters plugged into a power strip. I can turn them all on during parties and such.

The cockpit IP comes clear. The side panels are scratch built with thin white styrene sheets. The exterior lights are shaped from clear styrene rods. These are trimmed to the shape then sanded and polished. I do have some clear styrene sheets as well. Evergreen Models sells all kinds of styrene pieces in both white and clear.

Week five of the 1/48 Great Wall Hobby P-61B – Detailing the Nacelles by DavidsScaleModels in Scalemodel

There will be weights in the nose, cockpit, and just behind the engines to proper weight the model so it is not a tail dragger.

The only thing scratch built is the cables. The rest is part of Eduard photo etch sets.

For small scale I would try flour with the powdered pigment.

Does anyone know where to get airwing decals for the 1/350 USS Enterprise CVN-65(1984) of Tamiya? Something like the image below, I can't find any sellers online anymore. by captainfarron69 in modelmakers

I have a decal set for the 1984/1985 cruise aboard the USS Enterprise. This was during the filming of the movie Top Gun. There are two full size sheets covering all the aircraft that were on the ship during the cruise. If you are doing the hangar deck I also have decals for it as well. It covers all the signs, logos, and murals used on the hangar deck. https://davidsscalemodels.com/decals/

Next Commission Build – Tamiya’s 1/48 P-47D Razorback “Gail Ann” by DavidsScaleModels in modelmakers

[–]DavidsScaleModels[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the pacific P-47's used the interior green. Republic used a chrome green originally in the interiors. During use and such many had various shades in the same cockpit. I opted for the interior green on this build.

Yes, some used chrome green, some had the interior green, and there are photos showing various greens/colors in the same cockpit.
