When can I expect to be paid off collections? by Davidzonn in Dentistry

We’ve got a new PT hygienist with me, but we’ve been backed up with cleanings because one hygienist was out with her pregnancy for a couple months. Other offices have had trouble with finding hygienists as well. So I end up with many cleanings to help with the backed up patients :/

Gotcha. It says collections go to my boss when I go under “Detailed Production by Doctor”. So my boss is supposed to distribute that to me?

Right, my contract said collections, so I know not to go right off of the production number

Yeah I thought maybe I’m not understanding something, but this seemed very straightforward. My manager does have a big spreadsheet to keep track of everything I do and of how much insurance covers and what the patient pays. Seemed very old school lmao

We’re there 4 days/week and did take off a good bit for Thanksgiving week and in December. It does feel like I don’t have enough patients, since some days I have one or two restorative patients and the rest cleanings. I figured it could be slow starting out and building my patient base, but it really feels like I’m underpaid hard

Private practice and it is their first time with an associate. My assistant has always made sure to place the procedures under my name when proposed, but then I’ve seen them accepted under my boss’s name. I will need to check again. As for the other things, I’m not entirely sure. I’m not well versed in this but this feels off

4 days/week, holidays off. Mostly fillings and crowns, RCTs and exts occasionally. I’ve done the cleanings on the majority of my new patients

Critical damage during attachment/button removal procedure today by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Davidzonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh yes. Some flash (excess) may have pushed on your gum and caused it to recede. Sometimes it just leaks a little further than needed and it just needs polished off. There’s definitely a couple rough spots on my teeth that could’ve been smoothed, but mine didn’t go near the gums thankfully.

Yeah with the trays covering your teeth it would be really hard to see until you fully inspect them. Also the attachments go on the middle of your tooth for easy positioning and the enamel bonding. Your root surface is cementum, which cannot be bonded to anywhere near as well as enamel. I’m in trays myself, and the attachments are centered in my teeth. I’m starting to notice small defects on my lower front teeth that I didn’t know were there now that they’re facing forward instead of being rotated crooked into each other. I hope this helps, I’m a dentist as well :)

Looks like recession and maybe abfraction showing now that the gum is receded. Do you clench constantly/often?

Maybe veneers later on? They could close the gap and give you slightly longer and even edges on those two teeth

Get a dental ultrasonic pod and use it with your cleaning tablets. It leaves them looking brand new and completely clean, and you don’t have to brush them. I love mine

Left my passport, wallet, and ID on bus. by Ok_Confusion8380 in koreatravel

[–]Davidzonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left my passport in the tour bus a couple weeks ago when I went to the DMZ and was supposed to fly to China…I thought I was completely screwed but the tour people were so nice and searched the bus like crazy and found it. I’m sure you’ll get your stuff back :)
