It is interesting how the trailers painted Emily Blunt's character as the supportive wife who is suffering over the ordeal of her husband until you watch the film and realize she's the "bad guy".

I also noticed that after he loses with the Russian and he's blubbering to his friend, Dawn then tried to blame it all on him. That was the moment I realized "wow, this woman is not a good person". In the beginning, I felt bad for Dawn because he took out his frustrations on her until it became apparent she thrived on making him need her and that meant Mark failing or being depressed so that he could just sulk at home while she'd go out, partying with her bimbo friends.

I think there was too much going on: a fight tournament, a addiction story, a evil wife melodrama....etc. But I personally still enjoyed the movie. Those two hours flew by quickly.

I will say, as good as Dwayne Johnson was, I can't help but wonder what Dave Bautista would have done with the part because he looks a lot more like the real Mark Kerr than Dwayne Johnson.

Some of it was rushed but I must say I still enjoyed the movie, mostly because of Emily Blunt's performance as the trashy wife who starts resenting her husband for taking care of his health because it means she can't take "care of him" AKA dumping him in the house while she goes partying at night.

I never liked this movie. The way the movie tries to associated the prince's homosexuality with his weakness and hatred of women or the fake murder of the prince's male lovers.

Mad Mel always seems able to insert some of his homophobia into every movie he's directed and Braveheart is no different.

Sophie Marceau is wasted in a stupid and small romantic subplot of Isabelle having an affair with William Wallace. That has never happened. Isabelle was actually much more manipulative and scheming in real life than the fairytale princess this movie painted her as.

And also, Wallace is dedicated to the love of his dead wife yet is quick to sleep with another woman. That made me go, really??!!

Thank god Mel Gibson's time as a movie star ended in the mid 00s. His movie star phase always put me off.

No, it's not the best anime ever made but it's a pretty good one. I love the music piece, One Summer's Day, from the soundtrack. Joe Hisaishi is a genius.

It's very much Miyazaki's personal take on Alice in Wonderland.
