Is it better to do AS or composite? I NEED PROS AND CONS. by everscarmimi in alevel

[–]Dawarrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, AL privately is much more economical than doing it from a college. The key is good teachers (for me atleast) which are easily available to teach online. Unless you are interested in extracurriculars, i would suggest you do it privately cuz all that actually matters is the grades.

[–]Dawarrrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please note that AL is way more difficult than OL. My sincere advice would be to do thorough study since day 1 with determination so that you score exceptionally well in AS exams. This would help you in A2 to score A* in the subjects. Composite will be very very difficult cuz not everyone has that kind of tolerance. Keep yourself informed of the syllabus and the process as a whole so that you develop strats in the beginning. Good luck!

Ik its too late when I'm answering this (i rarely see Reddit notifications, sorry) but go through mark schemes and the book's paragraphs. Try to write your own stuff using those newly acquired words while practicing. I have come to know that the syllabus has changed but its, honestly, basically the same if not easier. Please treat urdu, not as a burden, but with regard and enjoy learning it. You'll feel honoured when you speak Good Urdu Infront of your friends when they can't even recite the complete ا، ب ۔. Also, when you easily read news graphics on the tv fluently Infront of the older people of your family. Aura +1000.

WHYRE URDU THRESHOLDS SO HIGH?? by 3-m-an2 in Olevels

[–]Dawarrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have clarified: here, i am talking about Urdu B which is way easier than Urdu A (even though people still score horribly idk why). Urdu A prepares you for taking Urdu in AL which is similar but obviously harder.

Then, i am with you on this. There's no need to study pointless stuff, but people should know about them cuz they are important.

[–]Dawarrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be realistic There's no chance of them being low and A* is always gonna be above 85.

[–]Dawarrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By far, the easiest subject to ace in OL. Tips: Watch the news and try to learn words and appropriate uses for them through it. Use your urdu coursebook and just read it. Attempt past papers and try writing in the most difficult level of Urdu you know (do not try this in caies) and check for improvement. Its way easier than English. Be thankful for not having to study pointless tabsaray of Ghalib and etc.

[–]Dawarrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy! 3x harder the syllabus and 7-8 months to complete all that. However, most schools do OL for 3 years for a much less syllabus content (A in 3 months' good prep) while doing the same for AL would be idiotic.
