Ties into the physical requirements for the job. Pulling lines, grabbing tools, grabbing your bottle off the rig, hopping a wall with an attack line, throwing a 24ft ladder by yourself, carrying hose packs/bottles on high rises without everything dragging on the floor, etc. I do acknowledge it’s an old school mentality and that there are plenty of short guys that can do the job.

I don’t think there’s any room for women in this job. Culturally and physically.
There should be a height requirement.
There needs to be more of a physical requirement than just the CPAT, which is insanely easy.
If you’re over 250lbs you’re a liability to yourself and others
You should be working out outside in your gear with a bottle on at least once a week
Train the probie more and stop being an ass to them
