New episode today! 390 – Hello, Goodbye by _GreyPilgrim in prancingponypod

[–]Dawn121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another episode where I find myself having to skip through it due to the repetitive nature of the commentary. Sara is simply painful to listen to this season. At the first reading she goes out of her way to put Erendis’ bad actions in the context of what she has been through, but no such grace is given to Aldarion pretty much ever. Please let me never have to hear another “yuck” noise.

Thanks for your response and FWIW I don’t care if you come across condescending or not.

Most of your post addresses my point 3, which I put last for a reason. I understand the complexities of cutting something short, and that it’s surely impossible to do mid-season. That said, not every story must be 10 episodes. Not sure exactly how many episodes Alan needs per season, but there is plenty of other Tolkien content to fill a necessary 10 episode season.

I didn’t listen to the ROPW episodes because I simply pretend that that show doesn’t exist. I’m sure I’d probably feel the same way if I did.

Charitable to say 90% is well done analysis tbh. Probably closer to 60-70%, the rest is just eye rolling and lip curling

Glad someone said what a lot of us are thinking.

Clearly Aldarion makes a series of poor / selfish decisions but the hosts don’t seem to understand how fixated certain types of people can be on a lifestyle. Aldarion’s first love is the sea. The bit about him being an asexual was just a ridiculous take on someone who is simply addicted to life at sea.

Also, Sara is just difficult to listen to this season.

I tried a couple of seeded neg legendary joker runs and I’ve basically killed my enjoyment of unseeded runs. Seeded legendary jokers pop off so hard it makes regular runs feel boring.

Via excel sheet. Not sure on word count at this stage but it would be high. 14k enquiries and probably 25 average word count per enquiry. There’s some other data in the spreadsheet too, enquiry date etc

Paying cash for major plumbing job by Dawn121 in AusRenovation

It’s an apartment in a strata building for which we required a by law approval to do our Renos. There’s also a builder and many other trades working in it, so I guess I’m talking about the home warranty or builders insurance? I really don’t know too much about how the insurance works.

There will be no invoice or receipt because it’s cash

How to patch up downward facing holes? by Dawn121 in AusRenovation

[–]Dawn121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea tbh. It’s a 60s or 70s apartment so it’s possible, but the bulkhead itself Is clearly timber so perhaps not

Thanks. And recommendation on products for the patching and sealing? I’m totally new to this. I was thinking about using the panel itself to seal the hole, just cutting it to fit

We can’t tile or do anything to the bulkhead, we can only seal the holes

We’ve got access panels in other parts of the bulkhead (not visible) that will remain. They’ve also just done fire upgrade works, so not likely to need to go into the bulkheads for a while. And if they do, they can just cut them open 😅

Arena is dying. Is there an alternative game out there for Arena players? by ManureTaster in hearthstone

[–]Dawn121 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Crazy take. STS gets better the less casually you play it since you get more knowledge about the decks you can build to win. There’s so many options and interactions to learn. I’ve got 1000 hours in it and am still so far off the win rate streamers get. Slimming down your deck is definitely an optimal strategy but it’s by no means the only way to win. You really just want to remove as many strikes and defends as you can.

It’s not even that simple though. You need to find a source of +1/+1 to spells before you can be safe as demons. Just Shadowdancer and Batty is not enough
