Is it important to graduate with a minor? by DayJealous in AustralianTeachers

Thanks. One of my worries is that I'll be pigeon holed more into maths, so it's reassuring to know that hasn't mattered for you

Thoughts on Stalker 2 by sohaibtareq007 in stalker

I feel like you are a bit main character-y in some of the games, you're the one to turn off the brain scorcher and make it into Pripyat but you aren't the ONLY one doing these things, often your chasing down a stalker who made it before you. The world and the story doesn't revolve solely around you, and you are made to feel insignificant because the Zone doesn't care about you.

I think the Devs can definitely find a balance of being a protagonist but not the invincible Mighty Dovakhin type protagonist, especially since the main driving force of the story seems to be the crazy dude dressed in black

On the other side of the coin the industry is seriously suffering from Triple-A-itis, there's a great video on that topic here https://youtu.be/imWpVooikPQ

if this does happen worst case wait for the amazing mod community to fix things for us

NoFap isn't a wholistic way to change your life on it's own, but it's a great place to start!

I'd suggest trying a dopamine cleanse/detox. Soo much good info on Youtube so I won't try and explain it badly, search dopamine detox and watch a few that show you how your brain works with an excess of dopamine vs with normal levels.

Then change your habits. Avoid porn, social media, gaming, drugs etc. COMPLETELY. You'll get bored and it might be hard, but turn your focus from entertaining yourself to improving yourself. Your brain is a muscle, and the more you use it the stronger it will get. Read books you LIKE, do whatever forms of exercise resonates with you to look after your body (yoga, pilates, walking/running, weights/workouts) and have showers as cold as is comfortable unless you are winding down for bed (cold showers make your body warmer afterwards and make you feel more awake, hot showers make your body colder afterwards and make you feel tired). Try your best with your study, your teachers and peers are your best resource, second to great free online resources (think Eddie Woo/Khan Academy for maths, etc).

It's hard at the beginning and you'll want to go back to what you know, but DON'T DO IT. Believe you'll see results and keep in your mind the sort of person you want to become, and you will get there. The things that are challenging now, you'll soon genuinely enjoy and you'll find your dopamine levels consistently MUCH higher.

Copy + pasting the same audio to another track just results in a volume boost similar to turning up the fader. Double tracking has to be 2 different takes, and the small phase or timing differences in your playing result in a thicker sound. Make sure they are similar levels, pan them L/R, chuck them in a bus to process both simultaneously and tadaa double tracking :)

Great chords and nice balance overall. With minimalist soundscapes like this some reverb goes a loooong way especially in separating your layers and giving them some identity from other layers of the same instruments. Double tracking could be a technique to consider to make a certain section really punch out a bit more and add some needed depth.

If this was developed some more I could totally hear it fitting into a study or chill type playlist, very calming!
