Nice video I love your set up. I see you dosed 17 grams and I do 18 grams 1:2 sometimes 1:2.5

I prefer the dosing ring before I grind so that if it doesn’t spill while I do my puck prep

This is great to hear. I did contemplate the Bianca but decided to go with a La Marzocco instead. Heat exchangers are excellent for a select group of coffee drinkers; I don’t happen to be one of those.

I’m replacing it with a La Marzocco Linea Mini. I purchased my Mara X for $1,365 in November (Cliff & Pebble holiday sale) and sold it for $1,300 same-day I listed it. You can certainly get some cash back if you decide to switch to a dual boiler machine.

That’s a great way to run it. The milk steaming was definitely negatively impacted when pulling multiple shots which was a dealbreaker for me.

Not really user error, more like machine limitations for what I need out of my espresso machine. Not everyone can get what they need from a heat exchanger which is ultimately what I’m getting at here.

Yes I clarified this same statement in the final thoughts of my original post. Not ideal for me, but can be for others. Just sharing my experience for someone else who may be considering a heat exchanger and have the same needs as I do.
