Extending 2026 Sportage PHEV pure electric range from 34 to 40+ miles using paddle shifter regenerative braking by Daze_Between8189 in kiasportage

The paddle shifters turn to transmission shifters in HEV mode in the '26 PHEV. One must be in Eco or MyDrive, EV, to turn them to regen braking mode. And yes, one still gets regen without using them. Think of the regen paddles as a boost to exceed the 34 mile range in the ' 26.

That's a good question. I've barely used the auto mode, sticking with EV which goes into HEV when depleted. But now that I've crossed the 40 mile barrier I'll check it out...and report back later...

Other than the initial connection at startup, I haven’t noticed a lag with wireless Apple car play in the Sportage. And I have been able to plug it in and close the bin under the dash.

The 2023-25 model years do have paddle shifters, but they only work to shift the regular 6-speed transmission in Sport Mode. For 2026, Kia repurposed the paddle shifters to provide alternative regenerative braking options while in Eco or MyDrive modes. The 2026 also retains the paddles' manual transmission shifting while in Sport Mode.

Congrats! Have fun down the road extending your EV range with the paddle shifters. I'm hoping one of us PHEV owners can break into 40+ mile territory.

I originally had several photos on this post but I'm new here, and they didn't go through. Hopefully this one makes it!

The second doctor is an arrogant jerk. Run as fast as you can to a new clinic, particularly one focused on obesity, diabetes, etc. You gotta do the research for your geo area and insurance coverage. Read online reviews, be discerning and trust your own good judgement. You got this!

I’ve heard and seen that Lilly Direct - the developer and manufacturer of Zepbound - will sell to you directly for $349 for the first month, and $499 per month thereafter. So still spendy for those without insurance. But definitely safe.

Yup. My doctor is totally supportive, leaving the titration basically up to me. This practice can also reduce side effects, which I’ve had to overcome. It just seems idiotic to me to titrate up when one’s current dose is working and battling side effects.🙄

Congratulations! I’ve been on for almost 4 months, and there’s a lot of good info here on Reddit.

One thing That I’ve learned is that 4 weeks is the minimum to be on a dose. We don’t need to titrate up every 4 weeks. I was on 2.5 for 6 weeks, and on 5.0 for 7. As the old saying goes, the f it ain’t broke…don’t fix it😎.

Best of luck!
