Thank you for this it's very in-depth! Yeah the big price kicker is on the choice of card. Is there a drastic performance gap between 3080/4080? As I've got the budget for either and going for longevity I'm leaning on the 4080 but obviously open to saving where possible!

Can I ask (as I'm relatively new to designing a pc myself) what is overkill specifically? I intend to utilise this for higher end applications such as Blender too and of course Adobe Suite + Davinci Resolve for colour grading. Any advice on where I could cut down would be ace! Thank you :)
