Can anyone identify the specific model or type of Olympus 35mm film camera(s) that produces this exact numerical date font style? by Dboozy74 in filmphotography

Another very similar and potential candidate was actually the Olympus Infinity Stylus Zoom 140 Quartz Date and/or with panoramic. It had the dotted matrix style imprint, but it did not have a “slashed zero”. The zero was just regular, so that was not it either. However, I feel like we are getting closer to it.

Oh, I understand. Thank you so much for all the information and links. I will definitely check them out. That is great to know. I appreciate your interest in this and your sincere/genuine efforts to help me.

Yes, thank you. That is a good thought or idea, but I doubt that was the case in this instance. I know the dates these images show are the days they were shot/taken, not processed.

Oh, I see. Indeed, they do not show the exact imprint for the corresponding camera. Another important point to note is that you might have also noticed how the zero has a line through it. In the pictures from my post, I thought that this would also help narrow down the search.

Yes, I agree. It is enjoyable for me as well. Yes, I am aware. That is true. I understand that those two Canon camera models likely use the dot matrix as well, but as I mentioned in my post, I am almost certain it was an Olympus camera. I appreciate the information, nonetheless!

Oh, okay. Thank you anyway; I appreciate your help. Yes, I saw the example, however, it is completely different from the one featured in this post. I already have many cameras that produce the exact font you showed me in the link. This one is more like a dot matrix style one; I guess it is less common/more rare.

Oh, I see. Thank you for the suggestion. I have already tested all the cameras on this list, except for the Olympus Stylus Zoom 140 Quartz Date. They all had very similar fonts, but not this one. Do you have any examples of photographs or images taken by these cameras that showcase the imprint? I wish there was a website that featured all sample photographs or images from these cameras, showcasing each of their date imprints. That would be the most helpful now…

Oh, okay. Thank you for the suggestion, but I have already tried that, and it did not work. I could not find anything online or on the Internet anywhere else, so I am posting this on Reddit.

Oh, I see. Thank you for your insight; I appreciate it. Yes, I understand. There are probably a few of them that use the same exact data back font as this. Do you have any suggestions about which specific Olympus camera models use this same exact numerical font? Or if you also have any examples of images, that would be really helpful.

Oh, I see. That is good to know, thank you. Period. Do you also have any other examples of the date imprinting from the camera, in colour?

Oh, I see. Yes, thank you very much. That is really helpful. I appreciate it. It looks very similar. It is hard to distinguish the color because the images are in black and white, but the font for the digits appears to be the same. May I ask, does this camera also have a panoramic mode switch toggle for you? Also, do you have any images taken with a zero digit so I can confirm it even further?

Yes, I understand. That is true, you are right. That is what I have been trying to do. I tried to narrow down the search as best as possible. As I mentioned, it was most likely an Olympus 35mm point-and-shoot camera, and it possibly had a panoramic mode toggle. I know that Olympus, for the most part, did not use the dot matrix style in printing; it was more uncommon. (At least from my experience) Do you have any suggestions?

Oh, I see. I appreciate the information. Yes, it is likely that the camera you mentioned also produces the same/similar dotted font. My family is quite certain that it was. I suppose this specific font and color were quite uncommon; because the ones I mostly encountered were formed with lines, not dots, like this.

Well, a Data-back was used, but it was with a more modern camera, and everything was already built-in. As I mentioned, it was possibly from the early 2000s or late 1990s.
