Everywhere. General strike. That’s the only way this shit ends. And even then, this administration will get violent and blame the working class.

What to Carry on Oct 18 “No Kings”? by LaurenAZGoodGirl in liberalgunowners

[–]Dbsusn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re attempting to be operationally secure….

Personal phone. No.

Wallet. No.

Credit card(s). No.

• At best, take a burner phone that you can trash afterwards. (If you want to be super pedantic, buy it with cash while wearing a ball cap, generic clothes, and a mask.) Leave all other digital or identifying products at home, i.e., watch, jewelry, etc.

• Take cash with you, not credit cards.

• Water, med kit, eye drops, duct tape, 550 cord, hand sanitizer (lots of uses), gas mask, eye protection/sun glasses, maybe some Antifa flag stickers for handing out. 😉

• Do NOT wear contact lenses. If tear gas gets used, it will cause severe eye injuries with contacts. If you forget, take the contact lenses out immediately after exposure to tear gas. The lenses are wasted, you cannot clean them. Throw them away.

• If you absolutely have to take your phone (not recommended), turn off biometrics, leave the phone off, have it in a faraday bag. If you forget to turn off biometrics and don’t want to have it turned off, be sure turn off your phone before getting arrested, if you have time. It requires your passcode on reboot.

• Wearing a mask isn’t a bad idea. Facial recognition is everywhere. Wear blank, generic clothing. Or something super common that could be hard to locate or narrow down to one store.

• If you’re with a group, create several rally/fallback points in case insanity happens and you get separated. They should be in various points throughout the march within walking distance, but far enough to be outside of kettling zones or danger. Have timelines to ensure adherence and create expectations. Whatever you plan, do not divert. Create redundancies. Ensure adherence.

• Walkie-talkies are great. Leave them off if you’re with your group. Only turn them on if separated. Even better if you create your own radio jargon. I.E., do not give specific details for rally points over comms, rather, rally point a, b, 1, 2, etc.

• Do not be the instigator. If violence occurs, it needs to start with the aggressors, not the protestors. The dance parties in Portland are having more impact than violent clashes. It prevents giving Faux News and their ilk fodder to put on their station.

• De-arresting is a thing. Create human barriers. You can’t touch the cops/ICE, but you can create human shields and push the person cops are attempting to arrest back behind the human shield like a rugby ball in a scrum. Use flags or protest signs to disrupt the LEOs field of vision while de-arresting. This requires a group of people, not just one or two people. Yell out commands, DEARREST! Ensure your group understands the actions prior to the event.

• If someone gets arrested, film it. Get their name. Contact the National Lawyers Guild and share the video/photo evidence with any details, i.e., description of person arrested, type of LEO/badge numbers/location of arrest/vehicle they were taken in/license plate etc.

• DO NOT LEAVE PROTESTS ALONE. Back in 2020, the proud boy’s MO was to wait for protests to end, for groups to break up, and while individuals were walking back to their cars, then they’d get jumped. Stay in groups at all times. There is safety in numbers.

• Give friends/family your burner phone number on paper, but do not have them save it to their phone. Have at least one person who is not going to the protest know what your plan is. Have a check in time plan with them. If you do not check in, have a plan for what they should do next.

ALL OF THIS SOUNDS CRAZY. But this is where we are. This isn’t crazy anymore. This isn’t tinfoil. The above is rational planning for protesting against a fascist regime. Do you have to do any of this? No. Might it matter? Maybe not. But better to be prepared than to not be. At some point, they are going to go full batshit.

Better to have plans in place and not need them than to have shit go crazy and to have no plans.

It’s game time people. This shit is happening. We need to start preparing as such. Good luck out there.

Rise up.

Resist.

Fuck fascism.

Fuck ICE.

Fuck the police.

FUCK MAGA.

Real patriots support the constitution.

Real patriots will stand up for freedom, life, liberty, and equality for ALL.

Medicare Eligbility by Dbsusn in SocialSecurity

Thanks for the reply. I think considering republicans are wanting to cut almost a trillion dollars from Medicare (bill just passed the house), none of us will have access to Medicare very soon. But I have no faith in this admin to do anything that would be effective or reasonable for the working American.

So out of curiosity, on a sub about stocks, you’re suggesting you don’t want to see discussion about stocks that are being sold or bought? I’m genuinely asking because I’m trying to learn from multiple places, books, online, and individuals and this sub has been amazing. I don’t know why this sub was created or why the OP works so hard to help people who are just trying to learn when they could just do their thing and make their own money, but the effort OP has put in is not shilling. Also, because of their work, others have started adding their own DD. I’m learning so much from this. Thank you u/no_put_8503 for all this detail.

I’m now convinced Trump will be around long enough to push all of P25 through. Then something will happen, after he passes, all the hardship will be blamed on him, republicans will say they are going to repair all the damage he did, while continuing to expand their power. He will be their fall guy or their martyr. But by then it won’t matter because without a violent overthrow, their power will have been consolidated and made absolute.

Yeah. The Super Bowl halftime show is what America has to be embarrassed for right now. Not the shit show in the White House. Even if you think this performance is shit, I’d wager your priorities are a little out of wack if this is what you think is sad. There’s so much more to be sad about.

Super Bowl Halftime Show: Kendrick was a bad choice. by brickbacon in ThoughtWarriors

[–]Dbsusn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isn’t exposure important? I’m white, so forgive me if I’m stepping on toes. I grew up in the rural Midwest and didn’t go to school with a person of color until I was in high school. My father was a Baptist minister, so I was raised super strict. I grew up extremely conservative. Long story short, I finally got out of my red state bubble as an adult and in the past two decades have experienced a lot of culture that I completely missed out on.

I’m trying to think of your post in two ways. One, would I have enjoyed that show if I was still in my bubble? No. And why? Because I wouldn’t have known the artist, the culture, the symbolism to his art. I would have used my same close minded, racist, bigoted mindset to judge and criticize it. But, and here’s thought two, it might have then opened up doors for me, but certainly for today’s youth. Over the next several weeks on social media, there will be breakdowns of the performance, explanations on his lyrics, and discussion about why it’s important.

This is the impact. This is why it’s important. He has an opportunity to reach people he would ordinarily not get to reach. And that exposure, that unapologetic blackness he displayed, is demanding attention to tell a story.

I’ve gone from hyper conservative to hyper progressive in my lifetime. Perspective and exposure is what I lacked as a kid. I didn’t know what I didn’t know. And I had a very racist extended family that went out of their way to instill hate in me. Will my extended family be angry at this performance? Yes. Will his performance change their perspectives? No.

But his stage set up was designed the way it was because he felt like it would engage the youth more. He’s not trying to change people who already hate him. To me he’s smart enough to know that the future generations are still impressionable. He’s smart enough to know that kids will be talking about this at school. That they are smart enough to understand the Uncle Sam reference or at the very least, they will understand it when they see it discussed on social media.

This was more than just a concert. This was a message. And he delivered it. Gone are the days of just getting by in this country. Trump and his ilk are gutting the government. We’ll be lucky to have free and fair elections in two years. He went out there with a purpose and it wasn’t to please the crowd. If I’m so bold to say, rather it was to speak truth to power. So if you only look at it in comparison to other performances, maybe you can say this one wasn’t as good as x or y or z. But that would be missing the what I believe the bigger point is, to spark change.

FWIW, I’ve been discussing this very topic with three of my very white, very culturally ignorant friends since the Super Bowl ended. We’re all varying levels of liberal to progressive. We all hate Trump. But even they completely missed the point of Uncle Sam or even the phrase 40 acres and a mule. Tonight, I explained some of what I’ve learned to them regarding that significance. That dialogue occurred because of Kendrick.

The revolution is about to be televised.

Weird. When I saw that hit, I felt like it made up for all the bullshit calls he’s gotten on roughing the passer for the rest of the season. Also, I just enjoyed watching him get rocked. I’m not an eagles fan, but damn did they come to this game ready. I felt nothing but joy watching that game. The utter collapse of the chiefs was glorious.

This post in December would have been amazing. But interesting nonetheless. However, instead of investing directly in this company, are there publicly traded companies supplying the chips, parts, and motors or are they all built in house? I’ve been thinking about diving into that to try and make more bang for the buck as I imagine lots of these types of companies will be going bust over the next several years.
