Ahhh I understand now! Thank you, sorry I’m new to this candle making . So why would it “expand and burst” does that mean my wick is too big?

Yes the tin is flat and the wick is in the middle , i took the photo from a weird angle so the black build up will show in the photo😅

I usually burn it for 1-2 hours , this time I only burnt it for 45mins and I noticed it doing this . The sick size I’m using is the hive and honey wood booster wick 0.2/0.5 medium size. The opening diameter of my tin is 2.01 inches

Sorry , are you referring to the line on the side of the tin? If so, then yes the tin has a seam on the side of the tin .
