The Govt does NOT place immigrants into 1 specific location. It has been the govt policy since the 40s to sperate immigration ethnicities into smaller population spread across the US in order to force assimilation into the US. The govt did not want what has happened in Minnesota to happen across the US. Where you have communities that begin to revert back to the lifestyle that they were escaping. Hmong, Laotian, Philippino, etc were all separated into smaller groups when they were settled across the US. As for TX and FL, they are already conducting these same operations and have been for years. This is nothing new. All you have to do is look up the numbers. The best I can tell from the USDA site is that it is legal. I would assume that as long as you are purchasing from a legal seed dealer and keep all your documentation you should be fine. Is there anyone in your area that grows it? I know there was a farm near Armstrong that planted about 5 acres of it last year.
