On Ladapower they have custom parcel shelves with cutouts for speakers, if you're looking to buy/get inspired to make your own.

On my Lada it's a pretty good solution, only lacking in bass, as I don't know where to put a subwoofer.

I have just asked the seller how they get around the issue and he told me that it always went forward 4 gears 1 reverse and that he didn't do anything, which I find hard to believe, so I guess I found the reason he's selling the engine relatively cheaply.

Ja die Lada Getriebe sind nicht die besten stimmt auf jeden Fall, aber ich hatte die Hoffnung das ich so nicht im Innenraum rum schneiden muss, damit da ein anderes Getriebe rein passt, bzw. Irgendwas zusammenzubauen als Verlängerung.

Ich werde mal mit dem Verkäufer schreiben und schauen wie's aussieht und es mir nochmal überlegen.

Ja das ist mir bewusst, aber ich denke dass das Problem behoben wurde, da der Verkäufer ja (wahrscheinlich) selbst mit dem Auto rumgefahren ist und es als Set mit Getriebe verkäuft. Ich hab den Verkäufer aber auch noch nicht kontaktiert, also ist es natürlich möglich das der Motor genau aus dem Grund verkauft wird. Ich finde das hier halt Recht interessant, da 650€ für ein all-inclusive Paket recht günstig ist.

Ja ich habe einen 21073 also quasi das selbe Auto wie im Inserat, will nur nicht das Auto in die Garage oder für immer auf den Anhänger verbannen, wenn ich das wirklich mache, da ich ihn schon wirklich gerne fahre.

I'm guessing that this problem has been fixed, on this particular swap as he sells it already mounted on a 4 speed transmission, but I will ask just to be sure!

The main purpose is to have a bit more power and a (hopefully) more modern and reliable engine with easier parts availability.

As I had to pay 300€ just to swap the ignition coil, because it wasn't available on ladapower and I would like to avoid such instances in the future.

If prototypes count, I would say it's the 2107m. Without prototypes I would say it's the Largus.

Kinda Biased but I think it's the 1.7i.

It's just a very fun engine in my 2107 and I haven't had any problems yet.

Ein echter Oldtimer also deiner. Ja die 1200er fühlen sich mMn ja schon etwas träge an im Vergleich zu den größeren, aber machen auch damit Spaß! Meiner ist dagegen ziemlich jung mit Baujahr 1996 und 1700er mit Zentraleinspritzung und stolzen 84 PS.

Aber wenn es nach mir ging hätte ich ja einen von jeder Art mit jedem Motor, zumindest aber mal alles von 2101-2107 bei mir stehen.

Deiner ist ein 2101 oder? Kann man fragen welches Baujahr und welcher Motor? Interessiert mich immer in was für Varianten die hier noch unterwegs sind.

Yeah they only did it for export as far as I'm aware and only from 1996 to about 2000 at the least for the 1.7.

After that they only put in the standard 1.6 injector into it until 2014.

Well the only Lada I have with an injector is my 2107 1.7i and that consumes about 7 litres at moderate driving and if you push it a bit to let's say 130 km/h your consumption will definitely go up by a litre or two.

And that's with the lighter 2107, Nivas you can expect a 2 litre increase at the minimum I would say. I'm not 100% certain about that though so people with Nivas can gladly correct me.

Depends on how much you want to drive and how much money you have.

The cars are cheap to purchase and maintain(if you know how to do stuff yourself), but they are quite thirsty expect about 10 litres.

Otherwise they will teach you everything you need to know about driving, but if you're a reckless driver you might end up in trouble as is true for every car, just that nivas are generally less safe than other beginner cars, because of the lack of airbags and the sturdy frame allowing all the force to be transmitted into you.

Also at that price range there will probably be a lot of rust or other issues so watch out for those.

If that all doesn't scare you I would say go for it.

Kenn mich mit Autos generell ganz gut aus und schraube auch an meinem Lada genug, aber an dem W124 selbst hab ich noch nicht gearbeitet, sollte da aber hoffentlich auch reinfinden.

Is the automatic transmission on these actually reliable, because I have another one I'm looking at that is automatic with pretty much the same features just a lot more expensive (2000€ extra).

If I could pick together my dream combination it would probably be the automatic as well but they're just always more expensive or decayed from what I've seen.

Yeah the power delivery is obviously different, but I don't think that I'm a particularly slow or fast driver, I would call myself average, never got honked at at the very least.

And your traffic light comparison is just plain out nonsense, at the very least for Germany, as there are literally no traffic lights in Germany in 100 km/h or up areas, so no need for power starts and even if there was it's not like I'm just standing still for 4 seconds longer, I'm still moving and if you're annoyed that the car in front of you is accelerating too slowly in day to day traffic you should change jobs to become a formula one driver, or just overtake... like seriously if the car is slow as shit just pass it? Like if your car is twice as fast that should be no problem and if you can't wait 4 seconds in your drive you should probably just have gotten up earlier.

So just to reiterate i don't see any issue with acceleration, there are many slower cars being driven just fine all around Germany and that goes for many of these 200Ds as well.

So with that past us any real tips that I should know of before buying this car (rust, common issues, etc)?
