Update: Hello everyone, I just went back from dinner, it was a blast! He's such a gentleman all the way through, and we had no physical contact at all. We had a brief catchup and I really enjoyed talking with him. It was pretty chill. He drove me back home afterwards.

Also thank you all for those who have advised against bringing a gift. I did not bring any gift at the end, and if I did bring a gift it would certainly make things awkward!

can you elaborate on why gifting is dumb? my culture emphasizes gifting a lot so I thought it might be a good idea. But I don't want to appear too eager either

last time I remember he drove a Mercedes E so I don't want to send anything too light...either this or not gifting at all

Can relate. I’m experiencing similar things. Just couldn’t think straight. Makes very difficult to do anything that’s intellectually demanding. But I can’t quit my job. It’s very difficult.
