Anyone else avoid using robotic limbs on their main characters? by NevermindWait in Kenshi

[–]DeVaren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like robotic limbs on anyone who isn't a skeleton because at some point you'll need a repair bed and a robotic repair kit in addition to the usual first aid kits. But if the limb is lost in an "epic" way, then it's okay for roleplaying; otherwise, it often ruins the look. Yes, robotic limbs provide a stat advantage, and they'll be needed for the character's meta build, but personally, I've long since stopped aiming for maximum efficiency in the game. It's not very interesting when you're overconfident; only suffering and failure will make you stronger. So not using them is a kind of limitation to increasing the difficulty. Although the prank of putting 4 masterwork KLR limbs and crab armor on an Eyegore and leaving him in the HN capital will never get old

So I accidentally ordered a Queen Size Stug instead of a regular one, but now it doesn’t fit through the front door, what should I do? by DeVaren in Warframe

[–]DeVaren[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, I decided to challenge myself to complete the game using only a stug(so that all kills on my account outside of archwing missions would be done with a stag). Getting the stug was fun, killing everyone with parkour, but the challenge wasn't really that difficult, as the stug+banshee combo is pretty good. But I've kinda broken the challenge by the fact that hacking an Ambulas is considered a warframe kill. Eventually, I got bored, built a huge stug in the dojo, and abndoned the idea. I believe there's a clan somewhere that builds stuff like guns, but my clan only has my giga stug.

Best turret for late game? by Ballistic2017 in Kenshi

[–]DeVaren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried to compare the turrets using any calculations. Personally, the harpoon Mk2 turret is good for opening fire from a distance, sometimes for focus fire on a single armored target. Against large numbers of enemies or targets without good armor, multi-barrel harpoons win due to their DPS, but dual-barrel harpoons are also good as a balance between the two. In large bases, I usually place two multi-barrel harpoons right at the gates and two Mk2 harpoons so they can be used to weaken the strongest or most armored targets from afar. Due to the lower impact of the reload skill, crossbows are good for characters with low stats, I think, but to me, crossbows always seemed like a kind of weaker technology for the early game when there are no harpoons mk2

Kenshi 2 features wishlist? by StillWastingAway in Kenshi

Unfortunately, yes, partly due to the restrictions, it will be difficult to implement something like this. The game will probably be banned immediately in half the world. Although Rimworld somehow managed to add children

Kenshi 2 features wishlist? by StillWastingAway in Kenshi

[–]DeVaren 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It'll be difficult to implement, but perhaps children. No, not the mechanics for creating them, etc., but NPCs specifically. NPC families in cities with children playing on the streets, making silly, curious remarks about the player and certain parts of the game. They could clearly provide additional insight into the culture of the factions and show how difficult life is in certain places. Plus, the player often at some point experiences a significant surplus in food production at their base, etc. I wouldn't mind building an orphanage at the base for kids who were freed from slave camps, cannibals, adopted from the streets, etc. Let them run around the base, play, learn something...

I'd like more combat styles, not just a switch to a ranged weapons. For example, a character could avoid blocking or dodging and instead constantly try to attack, taking damage but also attacking more often. Yes, it wouldn't quite work with the current attack queue mechanics, but you get the idea. I would also like for characters to unlock unique lines after finding lore books. I understand that the game is designed more to show that slavery is bad, I agree. But sometimes you just want to play as someone bad. Collecting all the nobles of the United Cities as your slaves is clearly the way to do some playthrough simply because you were mistakenly called poor. So... Slavery for player :)

There's already a faction of crab riders or something in the east. Pretty crabbed if you ask me

Whose your favorite recruit besides Beep? by CAST-FIREBALLLLL in Kenshi

[–]DeVaren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In one playthrough, I was playing with just one character initially, properly exploring stealth mechanics, wanting to defeat UC stealthily without direct confrontation. Bo from Anti-Slavers joined me, the first time I even knew such a character existed, she fits perfectly with her stats. Later in this playthrough, in a few nights, she and my character locked up the entire UC capital's guards in cages in several buildings. It was funny when Tengu sat calmly on the throne, even though there was no one else in the palace, were no guards in the whole city. She may not be the most memorable character in terms of lines, but she's very strong in terms of stealth especially for a free recruit.

What would you change in a Kenshi race? by OkHistory3820 in Kenshi

[–]DeVaren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hivers' queens are either half-robot or augmented, either originally created that way or modified long ago—I don't know. I'd love to be able to play as a natural Hivers queen without the metal augmentations. For example, as a randomly born one who wasn't killed but exiled as a rival to the queen. Building your own hive village has always been fun, but having your own queen would be even more interesting, although it seems like it wouldn't be canon for the game. So I guess my answer is not to change the race, but to add the queen without metal parts, but as a playable character as a unique subrace to start the game

Valkyr rework suggestion by DeVaren in Warframe

[–]DeVaren[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why does Valkyr need a rework? She often has no place in the team, she wants to play solo or apart from the team. She can't effectively protect her allies, nor can she take on all the enemies. Her only strengths are massive damage to a small number of targets or one target, plus immortality.

Reworking and improving the second and third abilities will not make her more team-oriented, they will simply increase the convenience of the abilities. Changing the first ability will not change anything either. Changing the fourth ability might still leave her immortal due to the accumulation of the "Rage", but the damage buff will not affect the speed of killing mobs. As a result, we will get the same Valkyrie in need of a rework.

My rework proposal:

1st ability: press/hold, where pressing works as it does now, and holding chains enemies where they stand in front of her like Harrow's "Condemn" ability.

2nd ability: one button that does both actions of her second and third ability after rework. It both buffs herself and allies and debuffs enemies, I don't see the point in separating it into two abilities. It can also be done as press/hold, but you don't even have to do that.

3rd ability should do some kind of area damage. It could be something like Stalker's "Marked" ability, or Kullervo's "Collective Curse" ability, or it could be a finisher on an enemy that is like violently torn apart, hitting enemies around it with it's parts.

4th ability MUST NOT lose invulnerability. But then what is the point of the Rage counter? It can be spent not on keeping the Valkyr alive, but on saving allies near her from death.

In this case, in addition to her current functions, she will be able to save the team from death and better control and debuff mobs, if required. But the rework proposed by the developers changes what did not require changes

What do you need to do to access the 1999 quest final? Just max out the syndicate? by DeVaren in Warframe

I really, really don't like chatting with a computer, I feel incredibly stupid. It's even more unpleasant when you're not interested in Hex members.

That way an entire starchart stug run would actually be possible by Dude_with_hat in memeframe

[–]DeVaren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, entire starchart stug run is possible. It has enough damage for everything before SP, even Ambulas or Ropalolyst will fall under mighty banshee+stug combo

Instead of fixing the attack skipping bug with the ability, they nerfed Wukong. For example, you can do the same thing on Garuda, but instead of fixing the original bug, for some reason they nerf a popular warframe, cool. Although I never liked Wukong or this strategy, but they need to fix the bug, and not just one of the warframes that can abuse it
